Jenny + Garrett ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Not sure what it is about hockey players named Garrett but they are top tier book boyfriends.

I absolutely love this series and Becka Mack's storytelling. Her books are definitely on the longer side but I eat that shit up because it allows the reader to really be involved with these characters through their relationships and moments of growth.

This book is a great forbidden romance between Garrett who has a secret crush on his best friend's little sister Jenny. Garrett tries so hard at the beginning of the book not to act on his crush especially since Carter is also the teams captain and has been his best friend for years. That is, until his best friend Carter moves his little sister into the same building as Garrett and leans on him to take care of his sister when he's not around. Carter asks Garrett to go check on Jenny numerous times, give her rides home and more. Big mistake Mr. Beckett!! Garrett is mostly tongue tied around Jenny at the beginning (it's adorable), that is until he is witness to an exploding box of vibrators, a missing stuffed rabbit and his need for her suddenly outshines his caution. They strike up a friendship with some perks *wink *wink and become each other's people. All while hiding from her brother Carter because when he finds out Garrett is dead.

GARRETT 😏

I loved the book but the audio so much more. The accent def helped me fall in love with this book quicker. Garrett is amazing and I love him.

Hockey romance perfection

I’m obsessed with this series. Literally perfection. Can’t wait for the next one! They are surprisingly spicy!

Garrett & Jennie are…*le sigh*

I have no words for how amazing Garrett is. The “friends with benefits” arrangement between him & Jennie was friggin HAWT. And his patience with her was one of epic proportions. His heart is so pure, not only with her, but with everyone in his life.
Jennie…my heart broke for her. She’s lived her life in the shadows & as a result has no one of her own to truly trust. I loved the way that Garrett slowly showed her her immense worth and earned the greatest trust of all from her. The way he stood up for her & protected her at every turn just warmed my heart.
So many people in her life seemed to be determined to beat down her self esteem, but even though they worked so hard, she was able to thrive and be the absolute best person…I just hate that she went so long not seeing it.
The banter between all of the hockey guys is hilarious. I love them all and want all of their stories & HEAs. They all have some pegs to be knocked down & I’m totally here for it.

Audiobook Review:
Kasha Kensington & Alex Kydd delivered another great narration of this Canadian hockey world. I wouldn’t be upset if they keep going with more yummy goodness in this world.

Not for me

I loved Consider Me, but Play with Me was not for me. The story is way too long, with nothing exciting happening. Just the MFC being insecure and whiny over and over.

So happy I waited!!

I loved Carter and Olivia’s story SO MUCH that I couldn’t even fathom attempting to start this one right after because I felt there was no way it’d compare and I didn’t want to ruin it! I’m so happy I waited because I ended up LOVING Gare bear and Sunshine SO F’ing much for that fact. I got to love them for them and not for being in Carter and Olivia’s shadow. (You see what I did there?) You will after you read this book!
These two were kindred spirits. Jennie trying to figure out her worth and what she wanted to do after dance school; if she was really anybody without being Carter Becketts baby sister. If anyone could love the REAL her I’d she ever let anybody in to see it…she was a nuanced character that I deeply related to. The fears and insecurities were authentic and made me feel for her. She had to find her inner strength and I loved going on the journey with her while she did it.
She came off as all fire and sass but was a bit insecure and uncertain underneath it all . However one thing was she sure she was SURE about and that was she wanted Garrett! They’d been dancing around the idea of each other and finally decided to take a fun romp, nothing too serious shot at secretly being together to see if that fired burned out or turned into an inferno. Garett was tired of pretending he wasn’t into Jennie and made that leap.
He was a total gentleman in the streets, a sweet gentle Giant who turned VERY Alpha male in the bedroom. 😮‍💨🥵his näughty talk was on point. Hot dang!! He was a force to be reckoned with when it was sëxy time and his level of confidence is unparalleled! Then you turn around again and get the side that respected and loved his family whom he’d moved away from for hockey and missed like crazy. He and his father had a strained relationship and watching them work through it also felt authentic.
This story was way more than super stëam (and believe you me, this shite was burning F’ing🔥 full of smëxy time and toys and scenes okay? fan me now! But no, it also had all our favorites from consider me and added a few new friends, had tons of emotional content and laughter, oh the laughter. I belly laughed so much throughout this book and almost cried just as many times. The fierce fight for love and self confidence, for friendship, for belonging, for family. It has it all.
If you want a book with all the feels and a huge range of emotions then one click this novel. You won’t regret it!
If you do the audible version I LOVED Alex Kidd OMMFG his voice is hot AF! Added to my new fav male audible narrators list for I’ll listen to anything by. He made Garrett that much more yummy if possible. I love it when authors get the right pairing for book characters and narrators! Now Kasha Kensington on the other hand is probably getting an unfair review being compared to Alex. She had a more of a kids voice and everything ended on an excited note. I didn’t really feel her voice for Jennie but it wasn’t an unpleasant one, she just didn’t sound as our h did in my head.
All in all another banger by Becka Mack. She quickly rose to my one click list with no questions asked. I loved this series and quickly went out and bought both paperbacks to add to my limited paper copy bookshelf that holds ONLY my favorites!

The best voice actors paired with a great story. Great to see a sequal that's improved in every way.

This book somehow was even better than the first one. Loved listening to the new couple while still incorporating the previous.

The series keeps getting better

I’m loving this series. Can’t wait for the next story. The aloha males are the best mix of ego and heart. The struggles the character go through are relatable and somehow Becca manages to weave these amazing characters and themes into stories that are uplifting and warm while making me laugh out loud.
