Summary

Young Amish woman Amanda and international Cuban superstar Alejandro surprised the world by tying the knot. But for the celebrated singer, time doesn’t stand still after the big “I do.” Alejandro must return to his life on the road and into the fray of a demanding tour and his adoring fans. After their brief period of marital bliss, the new couple struggles under the media’s constant intrusion into their romance and fights to sustain the bond they first discovered at Amanda’s Pennsylvanian farmland home. When the paparazzi report a juicy story that could threaten Alejandro’s reputation and cause Amanda to doubt their promises to each other, the two face a hardship that may put their budding union at risk. Can their love survive worldwide scrutiny and the distance his stardom creates between them?

Very Disappointed in book 3

I've listened to the first two books, which I liked. I've got 4 hours left on this book and I don't like it. I have a feeling Sarah Price is dragging this series out. This book is one long interview with Amanda being confused in the English world. I like Christian books for a reason, and Ms. Price goes a little too far with the sex scenes. I get it that they are newlyweds, but do we have to hear about the details of every time they are about to have sex? Also, Viper is selfish and very difficult to like at this point. He's very selfish. All they do is go from interview to interview for almost 10 hours. I wish Amanda had a spine. I really liked the first two books, but this one is really boring.... I'll probably listen to the last book to see if these two make it in this weird marriage.
The husband is just not likeable. I probably could have skipped this book and went from book 2 to 4 and not missed a thing.

Similar

After reading the reviews I thought this book does seem very much the same. However, the last half of this one came alive toward the end. Sure will continue the series. I have become committed and devoted to this couple....

4.5 Stars!

This is the third book in the continuing story of Alejandro and Amanda in the Plain Fame series. Now they are married and weathering family and business obligations along with the continued public onslaught that fame attracts.

It's not often a reader gets to see life after marriage when reading romance stories. That's one of the main things enjoy about this book. The author kept the story interesting while sharing the highs and lows of fame + marriage. Amanda is a wonderful character and I loved seeing her stand up for herself more in this book and learning her role as the spouse of a celebrity. At times, I was a little conflicted with Alejandro, but I still enjoyed him. It all came together well by the end and I feel like his character will be evolving spiritually as the series progresses. He tends to be an alpha-male, which I don't mind since I find that it is culturally relevant (I'm married to a Puerto Rican!) He is also devoted and loving, but battling the demanding side of his personality. He's still trying to define himself as a husband while also a celebrity that has people at his beck and call. Overall, a nice addition to the series. As with the previous three two stories in this series, the audiobook was perfect. An outstanding narrator.

Lovin' this series!

This book had the drama that I've been waiting for. I think it's so cute how much Alejandro adores Amanda and is always telling her she's beautiful.

On to the next book!

Boring

This started off as a descent series. Book two was semi boring. Book three was more boring until three quarters of the way through, when it started to pick up. Then is fizzled our again. Felt like you were reading the same things over and over again. Was excited at first to see this was a six book set. Unfortunately not worthy of going past book three. Must move on.

It just keeps getting better!

What did you love best about Plain Again?

New elements that were added in - like the daughter that Viper has but never interacted with her. Amanda accepting that daughter and taking her home to the farm.

What other book might you compare Plain Again to and why?

To the other plane books.

Have you listened to any of Amy McFadden’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

She does such an incredible job with voices and accents. Now she introduces us to a Portuguese accent. Unbelievable reader.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

When the Amish and Latino worlds collide - literally!

Any additional comments?

Never intended to keep buying this series but the story is great and the reader is totally amazing. I believe I will buy every book narrated by Amy McFadden!

ANOTHER WINNER

the only reason I gave the overall rating of 4 instead of a 5 was because the author chose to throw in profanity which up until now she has avoided. It did distract from the story since I had already grown to expect that she could insinuate bad language without actually using it and I was surprised that she chose to throw it in this time. However, all in all the emphasis of the story is that happiness is found in right living not in sinful living.
