About this listen
Jed Walker thinks he’s having a midlife crisis. The only trouble is that it feels too good to stop.
Widowed at a young age, he’s spent his life since then avoiding any relationships that might end up hurting him again. He has his successful wedding planning business, Confetti Hitched, and a series of uncomplicated hookups, and that’s all he needs in life.
The one person disrupting this controlled stoicism is his younger assistant, Artie. He’s sweet and kind and has a funny way of calming Jed’s mind. So, when Artie comes to him with a problem, Jed moves heaven and earth to help, which is how he finds himself entering a fake marriage with the younger man and catching feelings. Too bad it’s all pretend. Or is it?
From bestselling author Lily Morton comes a story about how love can completely derail the best-laid plans.
This is the third book in the Confetti Hitched series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Jed + Artie = swoon
Jed and Artie’s story took me on a rollercoaster of emotions, from giddiness and excitement to heartbreak and hope, then elation when they finally got their HEA. The secondary characters were fun to get to know too, and Jed’s interactions with his brother and mother were fantastic.
Another beautiful story by Lily Morton, narrated by the wonderful Joel Leslie. The two are a match made in heaven.

It never gets boring in Confetti Hitched
Story: I swear Lily Morton is incapable of publishing anything other than simple perfection. I have so much fun every single time! Paper Roses is a perfect mix of sweet, funny, angsty and super hot, in just the right amounts to take you on an emotional roller coaster you never want to disembark.
Narration: There sometimes happens a perfect match between an author and a narrator, elevating the stories to new heights. Lily Morton and Joel Leslie are a match like that.

Fantastic listen
Another great listen from Lily Morton, perfectly brought to life by Joel Leslie's narration. Main characters that you fall in love with and a storyline to keep you engaged from start to finish. I particularly love characters from previous books making an appearance. Well worth a listen.

Interesting relationship
Jed makes me so annoyed. He really seems to cause himself more trouble. He has this attraction to Artie, his assistant yet he is reluctant of any relationship.
Artie is such a peacemaker. He is amazing with his patience. He is someone that goes out of his way to smooth weddings and is amazing at how he can handle people.
The narration by Joel Leslie makes this book so real. I love this narration.

Wonderful and romantic!
I loved Jed and Artie's story when I read it with my eyes and I loved it even more listening to Joel Leslie's wonderful audio performance. The path to their HEA wasn't without some heartache but there were also many LOL moments which is only one of the reasons I love Lily Morton's books.

Another winnet
This book is not without its flaws but it made me smile and cry and ultimately I was happy with the end result.
The whole situation with the will needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. It's a plot device to get these two together and living in the same space where Jed has no choice but to accept his attraction for Artie. And it's a plot device that is soon forgotten, nobody checks up on them, nobody of any consequence tries to dispute their marriage. Like I say, it's a plot device, and it's easy enough to gloss over in the name of Romance, just like I can ignore that there is no mention of inheritance tax, or how Artie can afford all of these (very bespoke) renovations.
What I'm was less than enamoured with was the decision to throw Mick under the bus. Jed's been grieving for years but it turns out that Jed and Mick's marriage was rocky to say the least and that Jed was going to leave him but then he died and Jed felt guilty, which felt at odds with his behaviour in the previous books and the early part of this one. You're allowed to love more than one person in your lifetime, there was no need to demonise Mick to make Artie the love of Jed's life, he could have had them both, and it would have made more sense of Jed's grief.
It sounds like I didn't enjoy this but that is far from true. Artie is a joy. Lily Morton writes drunk character behaviours really well. The story has humour and charm and Rafferty. And those moments when Jed allows himself to love and feel are absolutely beautiful.
Joel Leslie does a great job as usual. In fact whenever I read a Lily Morton ebook I read it with Joel Leslie's narration in my head.

Wonderful romance and performance
Joel Leslie always does a superb job with Lily Morton's characters and this is no exception. He shows us a Jed initially happy with his life of free and easy connections and no commitments but then there's Artie. As written and performed by Leslie, he's sweetness and sunshine and gets under both Jed's and the reader's skin. It makes perfect sense that when he needs help Jed is willing to step in and watching their feelings develop and deepen makes for a wonderful romantic listen.

Exceptionally Stunning!
I don’t normally leave reviews but I adore this series. Lily Morton is a witty and clever author and I’ve listened to all her books. And naturally, Joel Lesley is sublime

beautiful surprise
Ahhhhh, this book. This is my first Lily Morton book but will definitely not be my last. I loved everything about this story. Jed and Artie are perfect for each other. You can see that from the first moment they interact with each other. Jed's heart goes soft for Artie in a way that it never did before. He struggles a lot throughout the book with his feelings for good reasons, but Artie is his heart, always. He doesn't recognize that right away, his mind is taking longer to catch up, but his heart knows. Artie is a sweetheart, and everyone around him loves him. To be honest he deserves that. He deserves all the love and all the good things that are happening to him. Jed gives Artie something he didn't have a very long time, unconditional love, and for that I love him even more.
This is a story about second chances, at life, at love. It's a story about friendship, and trust. It's a story about love and commitment.
The audiobook is also amazing. I loved the narration.
10/10 - highly recommend

Fantastic!
I loved Jed and Artie’s story! Artie was such a sweetheart I loved him from the start. Jed was an amazing person, but oh so oblivious to what was in front of him - Artie and his love. Artie and Jed find themselves married after Artie receives some inside information on an upcoming will reading. Jed, ever the gentleman and good friend, offers to marry Artie so he can fulfill the will’s directive of being married to claim his family’s home. What ensues is Artie creating a beautiful home for them, while Jed continues to remain oblivious to the love on offer. At times you’ll want to bop Jed upside the head, but continue to feel for him as well. I adored how their story played out, the characters we met along the way, and those we revisited. As always when Lily and Joel team up, the narration brings Lily’s characters to life and is fantastic, spot on, and really draws the listener into the story. This was a wonderful addition to the Confetti Hearts series, and is not to be missed!
