Summary

The Clone Wars have yet to erupt when Jedi Master Jorus C’baoth petitions the Senate for support of a singularly ambitious undertaking: the dream of Outbound Flight. Six Jedi Masters, twelve Jedi Knights, and fifty thousand men, women, and children will embark—aboard a gargantuan vessel, equipped for years of travel—on a mission to contact intelligent life and colonize undiscovered worlds beyond the known galaxy.
Unknown to the famed Jedi Master, the launch of the mission is secretly being orchestrated by an unlikely ally: the evil Sith Lord Darth Sidious, who has his own reasons for wanting Outbound Flight to move forward.
Yet Darth Sidious is not the mission’s most dangerous challenge. Once underway, the starship crosses paths at the edge of Unknown Space with the forces of the alien Chiss Ascendancy and a brilliant mastermind named Thrawn. Even Jedi knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, aboard Outbound Flight with his young Padawan student Anakin Skywalker, cannot help to avert disaster. What begins as a peaceful Jedi mission is violently transformed into an all-out war for survival against staggering odds—and the most diabolical of adversaries.

Amazing Performance
The story is good but the voice acting range of the narrator is amazing. If you want a good adventure buy this book. Loved it!

Brilliant by Marc Thompson as always.
Good listen but plenty of contradictions from other Thrawn books. The narration by Marc Thompson was as good as always.

Fantastic classic. Note that some people have said this has contradictions with the newer Thrawn books. This is the original pre Disney Thrawn

Great Thrawn story, the description audible have used is a little misleading.
The story is a fantastic legends tale, and is a story focused on Thrawn and his introduction to the Republic.
However, don't go in expecting an Obi-wan and Anakin story as the audible description implies.
They are minor side characters in the narrative at best. Even then, they are basically there for no other purpose than saying 'obiwan and anakin are in this'. You could remove them from the narrative entirely and it would play out exactly the same, and it would be a tighter narrative with less filler to boot.
that said, still brilliant and absolutely worth listening to if you enjoy Thrawn.
just be aware it is
1- A Thrawn book, not an obiwan/anakin book.
2- it is a legend's book from old continuity, not Disney Canon (which is by no means a bad thing.)

Finally the full unabridged version
One of my favourite star wars books gets a full audiobook release Timothy zahns writing is on form and I love mark tompsons thrawn.hopefully this paves the way for the rest of the legends books to get a release

Absolute classic
Man I hated that abridged version of the book so much. Glad to finally have the full unabridged version. Hopefully New Jedi Order and Legacy of the force will be next

I patiently waited for this book, once it started I realised I already had it in my library, they have basically slapped a new release date on an old book
