Summary

A murderous puzzle.

A compromised crime scene.

One DCI whose determination to nail the killer could cost him his life....

Detective Harry Grimm can’t catch a break. When his much-needed vacation is interrupted by a call reporting a decomposed corpse, he races home to examine the gruesome remains. Learning the young woman was tortured, he’s stunned when the peaceful countryside site explodes, destroying evidence and causing more death.

Uncovering clues from the victim’s car, Grimm struggles to keep up with a cunning killer when he discovers yet another body. But when the seasoned DCI examines the grisly murder and compares forensics, he’s alarmed when the patterns match those of a brutal drug dealer he put behind bars years back.

Can this hardened cop nab a wily crook before his own blood stains the picturesque dales?

One Bad Turn is the ninth book in the gripping Harry Grimm police procedural series. If you like high-stakes drama, wounded heroes, and unexpected twists, then you’ll love David J. Gatward’s thrilling cat-and-mouse chase.

Love love love Harry and co

David J Gatward just keeps delivering with each and every one of these books. I loved the way it incorporated Harry’s past so we got to learn a little more about what he did before moving to Hawes. As usual Aubrey does a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life each and every one of them. Each book tops the last for me and I wait with excited anticipation for the next in the series. 5*

Great Listen

Excellent storytelling. Well drawn characters who I now care about (I do know it’s fiction) and others I intensely dislike. Another cracking performance from Aubrey Parsons. Champion.

Thoroughly enjoying these DCI Grimm stories. Brilliant thriller kept my attention throughout, edge of the seat stuff.
Grimm has a decision to make, and I hope its the right one. I can't wait for the next book.

Wonderful Harry Grimm series

I can scarcely remember being drawn into such great characters and descriptions of landscape.
An amazing cross between James Herriot and
Violent crime. The reader is the best I ever heard

The story line .... a little grittier than usual!

I love these characters! I fall into their "family" and love it every time! I am relistening to this book having listened to them all. It is by far my favourite! Please hurry up and get book 17 onto Audible! (Psst... always feel Kindle is the favourite child 😊). An absolutely brilliant series!

Best over in this series!

I've now heard all the Grimm books available and this is by far the best one. Don't get me wrong, I like all of them, but this one is more detailed and driven somehow, I really loved it!

One of the best yet

Brilliant storyline, great performance, written beautifully. This series could be the most epic TV programme, but as a audiobook it’s sublime. Onto book 10
