Summary

Once upon a time...

Recent college grad Emma Damon knows the Rose Room in Hartley Hall is off limits, which is exactly why she can't wait to get inside. Once she enters the forbidden room, Emma learns more about the history of the museum than she ever intended to know.

Waking up confused and shocked in 1816, all Emma wants is to return to her cozy home with flushing toilets and disposable razors. But when she's mistaken for someone else, Emma must pretend to be everything she's not.

About to be engaged to the Earl of Hartley's brother, Emma fails miserably at playing the role of a sophisticated lady. Hartley is determined to ensure that the quirky and adorable woman marries his brother - despite his ever-growing attraction to her. After loving and losing, he refuses to fall prey to the shackles of love. But as his desire for Emma increases, he knows he must forfeit his happiness for his brother's future. After all, there's no such thing as happily ever after. Or is there?

loved it

Its a little bit corny but still a good read. I like a good time travel and this was very easy listening and good fun to listen to.

Very mediocre

I found it a bit slow and boring, all story happened in one single house! And the rain and thunderstorm every single day?? I love thunderstorm, but as I live in London, I can confirm, that sadly I can hear it max 2 times year 🤦🏼‍♀️😂
On the other hand, I liked the humour. And the end was very satisfying!

Travel

I really loved this book the story , the Narrator and both Emma and Hartley but have gone to the the site of Sariah Wilson’s other books and disappointed not to find any more time travel books so won’t be reading any more of her books

Lovely story

Well, I quite like it. I don't know how historically accurate this is, but overall it was nice. Kinda reminds you of Pride & Prejudice or Bridgerton. Well, sometimes I was annoyed with the main heroine: what do you mean you don't know how to dance a waltz or you've never been to the opera? People still do it in 21th century, you know. But in general, it was fun and interesting reading.

Once apon a time travel

I thought this was fantastic and I'm the type of person that when I read or listen to a good book it's like I can see the characters in front of me and I'm not ashamed to say I cried a little in the right place .
