Summary

The thrilling conclusion of Robert W. Ross’ best selling Paradigm 2045 trilogy!

Bladerunner and a grievously wounded Charlotte Omandi have escaped from Drac’ath, while also having assured Earth’s survival, by gaining its admission into the Galactic Confederation.

Omandi and her crew regroup with their Phadex allies on the hidden refuge planet, Rulia. While there, a long awaited message is unlocked and delivered by Rulia’s lost founder, Talus. It sets off a string of unlikely events that brings Charlotte into a shadowy world of assassins. Meanwhile, Linnea Sorenson travels to the legendary planet Aluria, where strange magics are rumored to exist...magics that can only be unlocked by the young telepath.

Rejoin Charlotte and all your favorites as they seek new allies including the enigmatic Leas-ceyln Mott, an Eridani so feared, the Elevated would commit planetary genocide rather than allow her free reign.

Throughout it all, Omandi struggles to stay true to her ideals, even as the entire Galaxy seems bent on Humanity’s destruction. In the midst of such trials and tribulations, she must also contend with Thomas Rogers, the young half-human, half-Eridani, who has awoken something in Charlotte she never thought to find among the stars.

As the Paradigm 2045 saga hurtles toward its exciting conclusion, it becomes clear to everyone aboard the Bladerunner, that their ultimate success may rest with…Omandi’s Daemon.

Brilliant 3

Fantastic end to this trilogy kept me guessing till the end. I believed in all the characters and felt how they felt by the end.
I was so excited to here Mr Ross confirm that this isn't the end of the crews adventures I can't wait for the next one!

Thrilling Sci-Fi Adventure, Action, and more!

While Charlotte Omandi has escaped from the Drac’ath, she is by no means finished.  Nearly fatally wounded, Omandi recovers on the planet Rulia.  She and the crew of Bladerunner expect to recover from their latest mission only to discover there is another deadly threat that Omandi and her team must face head-on.  They encounter assassins, a mantle of power, and are forced to participate in various trials and tribulations.

Robert W. Ross, the author, is a masterful storyteller that captivates his audience with incredible characters and storylines peppered with rich plot twists.  His talent for weaving a story to include several different themes is remarkable. There are several subtle themes throughout the book that include topics such as romance, familial relationships, religion, gender, race, and more. The relationships are multifaceted and complex yet are written with clarity and ease.

It is not enough that Ross identifies and builds Charlotte as a strong female leader through her actions, but he reinforces it in a unique and entertaining manner through dialogue between Charlotte and Edmund.  Another female character, Linnea, demonstrates her strength when she encounters a mantle of power, a mummy, a deadly decision, and love. The male-female relationships are refreshingly egalitarian, with each supporting the other as needs dictate.

There are several things I enjoy about this book. One thing I feel is essential for listeners to know before investing in this series is that Robert Ross does not take his character's fate with gratuitous intent. Meaning he doesn’t just put them in harm’s way or give them riches or death because it’s expected. Rather he builds them slowly and with deliberate care demonstrating not only how much he cares for them, but how much he knows his audience wants to connect with the characters.  He is the same with this storyline and plot twists, they are not flippant but rather well-structured and executed perfectly.

I highly recommend this book and the series with great enthusiasm. Once you start, you will not be able to put the book down.  After all, to channel James Branson, pilot extraordinaire, “why the feck would you?”

Looking forward to hearing more by Robert W. Ross!

Knew this book would be good, wasn't expecting it to be THIS good

If you have read ‘Trinity’s Children’ and ‘Humanity’s Promise,’ prepare to be floored - once this story gets going, it is an absolute avalanche.

Having narrowly avoided death at the hands of the Galactic Confederation, Bladerunner and her crew now face their greatest enemy - an evil cabal, hidden within and from the Galactic Federation; intent not just on the eradication of humanity, but on the utter destruction of any other species that gets in their way. Knowing a foe of this magnitude cannot be defeated alone, Captain Omandi and her crew search the stars for help and find a legendary assassin who is more than meets the eye (well, what you can see of her, that is).

Beautifully paced and brilliantly braided, the third and final book, ‘Omandi’s Daemon,’ is undoubtedly the pièce de résistance of the ‘Paradigm 2045’ series. Cover to cover, this book is brimming with Ross’ trademark action, humor, and distinctively honest, true-to-life dialogue. (I read a particularly funny section to my husband who responded, "did you write this? I feel like you stole this from one of our conversations.") Added atop all of this is mystery, righteousness, and honestly, more heart than I thought imaginable.

Coming as a surprise to absolutely no one in existence, Podehl is spectacular. His is the voice that lured me into what would become an audiobook addiction. Regardless of how many disparate narrators I’ve listened to, or how long it’s been since I’ve heard him read, Podehl’s voice always feels like home.

Ross has a knack for this writing thing, and with this book he’s knocked it out of the park. As stated above, this book will floor you. And the last chapter? That’ll just about knock your teeth out.

Great author, great story!

It's hard to find a scifi author who is able to include the real morality of humanity and create a great story, RWR doesn't write based on the current Twitter feed, he creates characters we can look up to or maybe even want to mimic our own lives after.

My personal favorite book of the year

Omandi's Daemon is a 10/10 on so many levels. Perfect final book of an excellent trilogy. It does a fantastic job of concluding the story while at the same time setting up a future series WITHOUT a leaving the reader with an unsatisfying cliff hanger. Ross, as I have come to expect, does a masterful job of making a WIDE variety of characters both incredibly believable and relatable.

As other review have eluded to, Ross does make illusions to his Sentinels of Creation series. He masterfully does this in a way that rewards readers of that series while managing to NOT punish those that are unfamiliar with SoC. That being said, if you have not read SoC I HIGHLY recommend you do. You will not be disappointed.

Also, stop reading review about Omandi's Daemon. Just spend your credit already and get it! (Unless you have not read the first two. In that case spend three credits, get the whole trilogy, and clear your calendar for the next week or so.)

Saved the best for last!!

I can't compete with some of the other reviews, so won't even try.

Robert and Nick certainly saved the best for last. This story had me laughing, crying, and cheering in near equal measure. Thanks so much for such a wonderful ride.

I can't wait to see what comes next.

Great ending

Robert has given us another great end to his series. I love the banter the characters have with each other. This book had me on edge of me seat many more times throughout it. I can’t wait to see what is next to the crew and some other characters that may show up from another series of his. ;) I hope you all enjoy this book and ending as much as I did. This has been a great ride for me. Thank you Robert for this amazing series and looking forward to what other books are yet to come.

Great Story. Even Greater Ending!!

Great Story. Even Greater Ending!

All stories deserve an ending. Great stories deserve great endings, and, oh wow, did Robert Ross deliver with Omandi’s Daemon. I read the print version while waiting for the audiobook to be released, and I’m so glad I did.

The audiobook, and Nick Podehl’s performance, adds another whole layer of amazingness to the story. I know he and Robert collaborate closely on these projects. It clearly shows with this story, and I’d love to ask Nick whether the tears I heard toward the end were real. I think they were, but then again they could have been mine. The last two chapters of this book were just heartbreakingly good.

So what did I like about this installment? Each of the characters gets their moment to shine and grow. It’s hard to describe just how much happens in this book. There is action, subterfuge, diplomacy, and even romance. With all that, the pacing is still fantastic, never seeming to get bogged down in minutia.

Best of all for me, Ross goes beyond crossover winks and nods with this book. The concluding book of his Sentinels of Creation series snaps directly into the epilogue of Omandi’s Daemon, just twenty years or so after Sentinels ends.

Clearly the author plans to start an entirely new series in this, now shared, universe. No spoilers about who survives to boldly go into the multiverse, but I, for one, cannot wait.

Kudos Mr. Ross. Five Stars, sir, and well earned!

Christian Sci-Fi that pretends to discuss/explain

For the range of ideas they try to talk about it's annoying and sad that one of the biggest questions is just assumed. Yeah, I'm talking about "God". The author breezes by the possibility to offer something beyond "I have faith" claiming it's obvious there was/is an intelligent designer to the universe and something about "infinite regression fallacy"?

I wish they'd explained the latter as I don't see how asking how God came to be is ignorable. Isn't the whole point of the question that you're claiming to be somewhere without having gotten there first? Effect without cause.

I bought the first book through a sale. Was worried by a review or two, but hoped it wouldn't bother me. Took book 2 and 3 to really be sure I was annoyed. I kept hoping for a truly unique and interesting situation to make up for it. There was enough to keep that hope alive, but generally it's just a lot of common human drama set in space, swapping out some humans for aliens. That plus a countdown clock. Insert witty banter here. At least we get some interesting accents with the audiobook.

Maybe I'm looking for what can't be given anymore... Something new yet familiar. Something that stretches my mind, but still makes sense. Too often I feel no tension as the author just needs to insert macguffin here.
