Summary

Emory: Will Grayson has always been an animal. Reckless, wild, and someone who was never bound by a single rule other than to do exactly what he wanted. There was no way his grandfather was going to risk him humiliating the family again.

Not that the last time was entirely his fault. He might've enjoyed backing me into corners in high school when no one was looking, so they wouldn't catch on that Mr. Popular actually wanted a piece of that quiet, little nerd he loved to torture so much, but...he could also be warm. And fierce in keeping me safe.

The truth is...he has a right to hate me. It's all my fault. And I regret nothing.

Will: I never minded being locked up. I learned a long time ago that being treated like an animal gives you permission to act like one. Their only mistake is believing anything I do is an accident. I can sit in this house with no internet, television, liquor, or girls, but I'll come out of here with something far more frightening to my enemies. A plan.

I just didn't expect one of my enemies to come to me. I can smell her hiding in the house. She's here. Blackchurch houses five prisoners. I'm only one of her problems.

Contains mature themes.

Loved It

Another great book by Penelope Douglas. All the books in the series have been brilliant. Look forward to reading her future books and hope she carries on with the new generation. Brilliant narration and hoping she continues her series with both Jeremy York and Tatiana Sokolov.

OMFG!!!!

I HAD CHILLS RUN DOWN MY BODY AT THE END OF THIS BOOK..... I HAD TO REPLAY THE LAST FEW MINUTES OVER AGAIN AND GOT CHILLS THE 2ND TIME.

What's going to happen to Athos and and everyone? I hate cliffhangers....seriously!!!!!!

I absolutely fell in love with this series and need to know what happens. This series is just amazing. It is truly DARK Romance and it not for the faint of heart. There is child abuse, sexual abuse, rape, you name it, so if you have triggers, this series is not for you. However, if you love Dark Romance, this series is phenomenal, just start with book 1.

I love the narrators, they are great!

Nightfall by Penelope Douglas
Emory lived a life of pain and abuse, to protect her aging Grandmother. Will had been infatuated with Emory, the nerd, the girl with big glasses, and clothes that hide her body, she tried her utmost not to be seen. But there was so much more to her, and he wanted her. Emory rejected him at every turn. Until they spend a magical night together and then it all comes crashing down. Emory did what she thought she had to. And Will had vowed for revenge. While we all thought Will to be the one that was not calculated, in this story we see a different side to him, and how he planned to bring down the mighty. Included in that plan is Emory, except she lands up in Blackchurch, the place where the rich and famous send their sons to be taught the lesson to never disgrace the family. Emory finds herself in a terrible situation especially since she was the cause of Will's fall from grace. What are the chances he would forgive her? And are the men in Blackchurch setting her up for the ultimate fall For me personally, I found this story long-winded and a tad boring, with everything but the kitchen sink thrown in. The early days of Will and Emory were great, you feel the connection, but then Blackchurch happened, and it played out like a shock factor, to see how you could push the reader’s boundaries. I don’t have a problem with boundaries if they move the story along and it makes sense. But it didn’t make sense, the characters were not the same – something was off. If anything, I felt like the author just had fleeting thoughts and threw them all in and unfortunately it came across as a mess. There were parts that I really enjoyed and other parts that were so unnecessary and came across as filler. Overall, it was just an okay read for me, I really did expect more from Ms. Douglas on this one. I listened to this and the narrators did a superb job - I just was not wow on this story.

I love Will!

This book kept flinging me off the fence I was sitting undecided on. It took me a fair few days to finally finish Nightfall, but I really loved it. Will is tied with Michael for my second favorite guy. Seeing all these different plot points from throughout the series finally add up and become an epic showdown was amazing. Some of that stuff absolutely blew my mind. I will say I didn’t like Emery until the last quarter-ish of the book. I’m empathetic to her, I just got frustrated with how she kept hurting Will. But they got it together, and I was definitely rooting for them. And the epilogue! So. Good. Really glad I finally read this series.

Perfect way to end the series

I felt like this being the 4th and final story of the men in the series, it was done well and brought the series full circle. It grasped your attention and closed the loop on the many breadcrumbs dropped along the way in the other books. The way it tied together each book seamlessly only speaks to Penelope’s true skill in writing. I truly hope we get a next gen series from this one.

So good!

Penelope Douglas does such a great job of fleshing out characters from earlier books and making their stories so interesting. These characters have some serious flaws, but all of them believable that makes them feel human. This was a very fulfilling series for me. It kept me on my toes, always trying to unravel the mysteries but often being quite surprised once they come to light! I will definitely be listening to more of her books.

This series is one of my favorites of all time!!

I haven't been swept away by a series in a long time! Usually I read the first book in the series and maybe half of the second before I get bored and move onto something new. (ADD at its finest!) But this series....Holy crap it captured me from the start and just continued to get better and better! Each story just melted into the others and It was truly like I was listening to a movie. (if that makes sense)
I fell in love with each couple I laughed, I cried, there are moments I though I was going to walk away pregnant from certain scenes! Holy hotness! The hor scenes pushed my boundaries and it was fun! Anyways...I hope you enjoy this series! I'm officially hooked on Penelope Douglas!

If DEVILS NIGHT were a thing!

This has been one of the best series I have had the pleasure to read. Lots of intrigue, suspense, romance. I'm glad they finally got to Will and Emory's story. But there are triggers so people should be aware of that. I still like Damon and Winter's story the best out of all. I cannot say enough good things about this author and her story telling. This series is awesome. I did struggle a little with the female narrator but it was never enough to make me stop listening.
