Summary
Lady Jane Brooke sought shelter when her coach broke down, and found herself at the Earl of Wintringham’s estate. Trying to conceal her identity, she introduced herself as a governess. Lord Winter, as the apparently cold earl was called, thawed in response to the delightful Miss Brooke, but she knew he would never approve of her deception.

Enjoyable though very thin plot! Poor Narrator.
I am a fan of Carola Dunn's cosy crime books. This was the first regency romance of hers to which I have listened.
It is a fun story and has fewer annoying anachronisms than many such romances. However the storyline of the heroine keeping a secret from the hero just gets strung out for way too long. Also the ending is abrupt- I would have liked some reactions from other characters to the denouement- an epilogue would have been nice.
The narrator is not great. She fails to create enough differences between the characters' voices. Often I was confused about which character was speaking.

A standout historical romance
My Lord Winter is a standout historical romance. The story follows the usual trajectory of most romantic novels, historical or otherwise, but the book is filled with interesting historical details. These are assimilated, in seamless manner, by the very talented writer, Carola Dunn.
The novel has been a joy to read since 1992 and it is now a joy to listen to, as an audiobook. This is due, in no small part, to the excellent reading by Tara Kaye. Ms. Kaye’s delivery is marvellous – clear yet engaging – and she excels with her characterisations. Each of the characters, from the haughty Lord Wintringham to the impish Jane and the various representatives of the ‘lower orders’, is depicted with precision and warmth.

A very enjoyable listen.
This is a very enjoyable listen, well written and beautifully capturing the period. The characters are brought to life with excellent narration by Tara-Louise Kaye who is a perfect choice. I will certainly be looking out for my audiobooks narrated by her. I eagerly await further Regency audiobooks by Carola Dunn.

Great to see a Dunn audible Regency book at last
I was so pleased to see that Carola Dunn is at last starting to add the Regency collection to audible. What a pity such a depressed voiced lass was chosen to read it. I nearly gave up half time as the voice really annoyed me.
Please please choose a better narrator for subsequent books. the narrator can make or break a book for me. Also please add more regency books soon. thank you.

Delightful story
This is fun romantic novel filled with entertaining banter and well written scenes. I really could picture myself being swept along in the story. You can't help smiling and laughing along with the characters! Clean romance, highly recommended.

Delightful to have a new book by Carola Dunn
To have a new book on audible by Carola Dunn was a delightful surprise! This was a fun “ read”and i wish I was good good with words! But I’m not so this will be short. The characters were well thought out and worked together with each other. Thank you, Carola. I look forward to more of your work!

Simple but honest.
I felt so sympathetic for both Lady Jane and Lord winter, because they are both fighting against other peoples Ideas for there wellbeing. Still I am glad neither one of the people in this story gave up searching for there one and only.

Predictably sweet
Not a very intriguing story. Performance is good for time period. Overall, a light plot and not more than that
