Summary

Besides his family, music had always been the most important thing in Carter Greene's life. Having a career in music was everything he had ever dreamed of. That was until the terrible night when he nearly lost everything.

Carter can't get the image of one particular man out of his mind; the man who found him in his darkest moment. The one who risked everything to save him and the same person who most likely never wants to speak to him again.

Ryan Marshall had led a pretty solitary existence ever since his grandfather had passed away. He spent most of his free time renovating the property he had inherited while avoiding the dating scene. Lately, he found himself longing for someone special; a man he could share his life with.

One fateful night, an emergency call placed Carter in Ryan's life and the two felt an immediate connection. Unable to stop thinking about him, Ryan decided to reach out, but was disappointed when Carter was not at all what he expected.

Ryan is determined to move on and forget all about the beautiful man he rescued, but he soon realizes that sometimes fate has other plans.

Music of the Soul is book two in the Souls of Chicago series and can be listened to alone or as part of the series. This audiobook contains sexually explicit material and is intended for adults 18 and older.

LOW ANGST ROMANCE

I'm okay with feel good, hurt/comfort, low angst romance, but this takes it to another level. Everyone (main and secondary characters) have only one setting...lovey dovey. The sweetness in the story was overdone.

Another amazing story from Annabella

Ryan and Carter are enough to make anyone swoon. After Carter is injured in a fire and saved by a hunky firefighter, he is struggling with the way he treated the firefighter when Ryan showed up in his hospital room. When his twin throws him into a project that places him in the direct path of Ryan Carter finally gets the chance to apologize.

Ryan thinks Carter is a playboy who only thinks with his lower anatomy after the hospital meeting. When Carter actually has a chance to explain and apologize these two start a relationship that is not only swoon worthy but hot and steamy.

Michael Pauley has done an amazing job once again with the Greene family and the cast of characters that Annabella Michaels has created. This is one that I will be sure to listen to more than once.

Judge for yourself

If you are looking for a weak storyline and a lot of sex this book is for you. I tried 3 times to read this book before skipping all the sex scenes and getting to the story which is really uninteresting. Otherwise I would not have finished. It's a shame that a series depends on all sex scenes to fill in the pages and the sadist part is the sex is so frequent and unrealistic that it becomes boring. If you are looking for an interesting story with realistic sex this book is not for you.I don't recommend it.

Insta love

This book is 100% Insta love and is so sweet it will give you a toothache. Not the best by the author but not the worst. Michael does a decent job, again not his best but not his worst.

She did it again!

So after the first story of this series I was kind of waiting for it. Annabella starts out with two guys who when the first time they see each other they just seem to know they are it. Fall in love after a few self doubts and you think hum kind of a short story and wonder why is there so many chapters left.... then she hits you in the heart and you just feel like your world not just the characters world is going to fall apart. I have cried with both books then smile in the end with a nice lead into the next story which you know you want to hear. Michael Pauley with his voice make you inhale when he inhales and cry when he cries. You just can’t help it. He brings the books to life. He is one of my favorite narrators. On to the next book now.

Notes of Love

In a moment of pure fear, Carter meets the man who will complete his soul. However, true love never runs smooth, and dealing with an aftermath of a near-death experience pushes Carter to lash out in anger towards the one person who doesn’t deserve his ire. Ryan is disappointed that the man he can’t stop thinking about turns out to be not as wonderful as he remembered. Overcoming this miscommunication is the first step towards a beautiful relationship.

Michael Pauley once again does a spectacular job with the audiobook narration. His performance brings the characters to life and was extremely enjoyable to hear.

Overall Rating: 5 Stars. The writing was smooth, lovely, and very enjoyable to read. The characters were sweet and likable. I loved the pacing of the plot from the action to the drama to the romance. I loved this book.

I loved the Music

This was book 2 in the "Souls of Chicago" series. Carter Greene who we met in book 1 is the twin of Caleb is a music genius. Carter was hurt in the fire at Romero's the restaurant his brother and husband own he was saved by a hot fireman and when he showed up at the hospital with flowers he was mean to him because he got some bad news about the arm that was hurt in the fire. Lt. Ryan Marshall has led a pretty solitary existence ever since his grandfather passed away. He spent most of his free time renovating the property he inherited while avoiding the whole dating scene. While out drinking with his best friend he sees Carter and his band preform and although the band is good he can't forget how Carter treated. When Caleb ask for his help with a calendar for the gay youth center he agrees and comes face with Ryan. Carter can't stop thinking about Ryan so he ask him out on a date. This was a really good read that I wanted more of this book was more erotic than the first one but I felt that this book left off on a cliffhanger. Carter has been a kinky manwhore never having any real relationship with the guys he hooks up with and his favorite thing besides threesomes is being tied up or handcuffed. Ryan who has never had a threesome wanted to try it for Carter he couldn't do it and Carter realized that he couldn't do either. I listened to this book as well as read it and I loved it. I really like the way Michael Pauley tells the story of a book. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading or listening to the next book. I want to find out what's going on with Landon and Micah.
