Summary
They say opposites attract, but in this case, they might just combust....
Heather
Hermosa Beach seems to be the place for throwing together unlikely opposites.
My rooster Rowdy and his new crush, Pixy the goat.
Me and the obnoxiously cocky cowboy from Texas....
But unlike Rowdy and Pixy, there’s no way I’m going to fall for David Strickland.
Nope. Not gonna happen. I could never be with a man so completely opposed to everything I believe...no matter how hot he is.
David
There couldn’t be two people more different than the beautiful little tree hugger and rooster rescuer Heather and me.
We can’t agree on anything, except that we disagree on everything - at some times more heatedly than other times. And believe me, things are starting to heat up between us, in more ways than one.
She's the last thing I expected to find at an animal shelter in California. But now I found her, I have no intention of letting her go.
I just have to get her on board with that plan.
Mother Clucker is a stand-alone story inspired by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward’s Cocky Bastard. It's published as part of the Cocky Hero Club world, a series of original works, written by various authors, and inspired by Keeland and Ward's New York Times best-selling series.

Stupid!
The only thing this story had going for it was Sebastian York. "Muffy" Newtown was breathless and whiny sounding the whole time. The female character, as usual, was whiny and dumb. Who can't figure out how to unblock a phone number these days? Of course, there's the usual romance checklist of items to tick off. The like you, not like you, the "misunderstanding" towards the end, the wonderful hot sex, the let's fall madly in love after only a month... blah, blah, blah. ! I sure wish romance writers would start writing decent storylines about real people wanting love and companionship. Not to mention the cutoff age of those apparently falling in love- the 30's. Really? Hello! There are people out there past 30 who still have feelings and urges!

Very original
This is definitely the first and only romance book I have read about a chicken farmer. The Characters and situations are hysterical and both narrators did an incredible job.

Female lead
What an arrogant, self righteous, ignorant, moron. Who needs to own a truck!? Um... LOADS of people! Not around here! Um... ya... there’s no contradiction workers, contracts, countertop installers, etc that might need a truck. And it’s impossible for anyone from anywhere else to be in the city.
Oh I said no to that guy I wasn’t attracted to because I didn’t want people to see me as sleeping my way to the top. But now that I know how nice nice things are maybe I’ll do just that
Also Sebastian York is the wrong narrator Colt this part. If you want someone with a southern accent, just get someone work a southern accent

So mother clucking good!!
A fainting goat. A rooster. A man. A woman. Everything just works in this story, I even read it TWICE! Read it last night and then again this morning. Loved it so much that I had to banish the hubby and the cats from the bedroom so I could listen to it. I loved every minute of this! I will be using my next credit on this one!!

Hilariously Romantic
This story was GREAT! As always, performances by Muffy Newtown and Sebastian York were on point and fabulous. The first few chapters had me giggling so loud I had to let my husband listen just so he understood why I was laughing so hard!
Story has the “*sigh* happily ever after” type ending that is a classic. It’s a great stand alone lighthearted romance.

Love me some Clucker!
Cat Johnson based her Mother Clucker on Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward’s Cocky Bastard. Only she used her own character as the MCs.
This was my first by Johnson, and I know it won’t be the last as I loved this story. This was such a fun read that I was sad when it ended. It’s also one I now own with kindle and audible. It’s one my lousy day go-to list. I love how Johnson did with the world-building and brought in Vi and Penelope’s characters. She has done a really perfect job.
Heather and David butt heads from their first meeting. Then fate steps in, and their adventure begins. Can I just say I want Rowdy the Rooster? This story was steamy and hilarious, and just everything I had hoped for with a name like Mother Clucker. If you pick this one up, trust you won’t be disappointed.
If you loved Vi and Penelope’s Cocky Bastard, you’re going to love Cat Johnson’s, Mother Clucker!

David and Heather with a side of Rowdy
This was a light hearted listen and I enjoyed it very much. It had a all star narrator cast which was amazing and the story was sexy and sassy all in one. I need to go back and ready where this Cocky Hero Club started and the others in the Club since they all look very good.
