About this listen

It was the greatest predator of all time, the most fearsome creature that ever lived - a 70-foot, 70,000-pound great white shark. Its jaws, filled with hundreds of seven-inch serrated teeth, could swallow an elephant whole. It could sense its prey from miles away, and if you ever came close enough to see the monster, it was already too late.

Eighteen years have passed since Jonas Taylor last crossed paths with Carcharodon megalodon. Now a middle-aged father of two, he is overwhelmed by mountains of bills and the daily strife of raising a family. But life is about to change. A Hollywood television producer wants Jonas to join his new survival series: Daredevils. For the next six weeks, two teams of crazy daredevils on a South Pacific Ocean voyage will try to outperform one another in front of the cameras. Jonas needs the money, and working on the color commentary seems easy enough. But behind the scenes, someone else is pulling the strings. And before it's over, Jonas will again come face-to-face with the most dangerous creatures ever to stalk the oceans.

Chomping for the next chapter

Really liked the story, looking forward to more meg from Steve Alten. The reading was easy to follow and I managed to submerge myself in the story easily after first couple of chapters. Helped having seen The Meg movie. thank you.

Enjoyable hokum….

If you can suspend disbelief and not take the book seriously then you will enjoy it massively. This book is excellent escapism and it’s narration was good too! Plus it’s in Audibles free catalog….

over the top sillyness, but a good fun read

put logic aside and just enjoy the pace... characters that you dont mind getting chomped, downbeat underdog pulling off the impossible, whats not to like

Decent enough story, terrible narration

The narrator while having a decent voice cannot pronounce words properly. I find it hard to believe Americans actually pronounce words like that. It grates. The story is predictable but what you’d expect. It’s a decent listen if you can steel yourself not to be annoyed by the narrator. I’m glad it was in the free catalogue. I’d hate to have spent cash on it

Not as good as the first 2

The story is a lot weaker than the first 2 books. Soap opera at sea.
