Another good listen from Lucy Diamond
I've listened to/read several Lucy Diamond books and this ranks as one of my favourites.
The characters were well developed, the plot was fast moving and interesting and the narration by Jilly Bond was excellent as always.

Enjoyable audio book
What did you like most about Me and Mr Jones?
I liked the authors ability to set the scene. I could imagine every place the author situated the characters .
Who was your favorite character and why?
Izzy was well written as the protective mother with a hidden past.
Did Jilly Bond do a good job differentiating each of the characters? How?
Jolly Bonds narration was good on the whole . Though I did get confused at times when there was open dialogue between two characters without a "said Izzy" at the end as sometimes the characters voices were just too similar to know who was speaking. Male voices were achallenge too all sounded the same.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Trouble at seaside

This had the potential to be so much better...
I usually really like Lucy Diamonds writing however this title didn’t fully hit the spot for me as the ‘nicer’ parts are somewhat overshadowed but the darker side of the story…
Additionally I think the bio should have included an indicator that the story line contains scenes of domestic violence - although I fully support the fact that side of life has to be told, there is a time & place for it which I do not believe to be in a work of fiction an unsuspecting listener buys on the premise that it will be an entertaining relaxing listen. Not what I was expecting at all from this author.

The J Family
Lucy Dimond is one of my favourite authors. This was one of my favourite audio books of recent weeks. I very much enjoyed how the each character seemed to have their own story within the story. All of the characters felt relatable giving the story both the right mix of comedy, sadness and vulnerability.

Any additional comments?
This is my first Lucy Diamond book. I really enjoyed it at the beginning but then towards the end it was very predictable. On the most part I enjoyed it and I will give Lucy Diamond books another try.
