Summary
The game is on. Time is ticking. Somebody is rigging the deck.
Carl and his bottom-scraper minions were a success story from any perspective. Against all odds, they managed to defeat all of Carl's dragon siblings and kill the filthy Soul Carver. Now, all that is left for him to do is take up the comfy place as the rightful ruler of the Scoured Mountain. With that out of the way, Selys the dragon matriarch can retire and go do whatever she feels like.
Small issue: "Whatever Selys feels like" turns out to be world domination. Even though Carl isn't native to this world, unleashing fiery wings of doom upon the world seems impolite. There's no such thing as a free lunch, especially in this world. If he wants to be the true ruler of the Scoured Mountain, Carl will have to fight to earn his keep. If he survives, there is still the question of a questionable magical oath to be sworn to Selys.
The situation is spiraling out of control for Carl and his people. A crossroads looms ahead of them: choose guaranteed survival...or pick a fight they're destined to lose.

this is a review on all three books as a whole.
i apologise for my grammar and any mistakes.
I was looking for a story with a dragon as MC and this story didn't really hit the mark for me. Its good story but this dragon is very underwhelming in terms of power and just being dragon-like. If the MC wasnt a dragon i probably would have bypassed these books but i stuck with it because a enjoyed the first book and the idea of a human mind inside a dragons body with a dragon powers and instincts, there isnt much of any. The books quickly move on from his fight with his innter nature in the first book.
When it comes to the MC powers it feelis like even though he is a powerful dragon everyone else is stronger than him, even with him having a head start. Its his minion that really save the day. Its like him being a dragon is just a sidenote or gimmick. In the second book the necromancer is way above his league and takes control him and everything else but with a couple of levels and a feat the MC illusions are too powerful for the necromancer to see thorough. This same necromancer plans kill and usurpe what i believe could be an ancient (or close to) dragon.
The MC sould not stand a chance.There is no way a lich on that level would leave anything to chance when they literally have all the time in the world. he leaves the body of the defeated dragons because he doesn't have any soul stone things but later on says thats not the only way he can take control, why didnt make two skeletal dragons. in these areas the MC plot armour is to obvious.
