Nine years ago, he broke my heart and never returned. I vowed to forget him...if only I could. When I was a child, I fell in love with a Dakkari boy. The prince of our clan. Rukkar, we called him. For he was destined to become the greatest horde king of our time. He was Kiran of Rath Okkili. My friend. My strong, unyielding protector. His mischievous smile and golden eyes made my heart flutter and my soul sing. And just when I began to believe he returned my love...he shattered me so completely and never once looked back to see how I’d survived.

Story
We’d heard rumors about the Vandar raiders — everyone in the galaxy had. Terrifying and ruthless, they were a scourge on the Zagrath empire and destroyed everything in their path. Few had actually laid eyes on the Vandar or the notorious warlords who led their fleets of warships — and survived to talk about it. So, when the ruthless aliens boarded our ship intent on destroying it and killing the crew, I did the only thing I could do. I gave myself to the dark and menacing warlord.

Story
Long have we been alone; without brides, without females to warm us during the long nights, without sweet mates. But we see them from afar, the brides that could be ours. Kept away from us by walls and weapons. Females we long for greatly...obsessively. Human females. And the one with red hair? I want her. I saw her first. I will fight to the death for her. She is mine. So, we’ll come together and make an exchange with their men that will benefit us all. After that? To the winner goes the spoil. Let the hunt begin...but the red-headed female is mine.

I’ve been swept off my feet before, and I’ve got the bruises to show just how badly that ended. I’m not about to fall at the feet of the next man - or alien - to cross my path. Especially not when he steals me away from home and wants to use me as his broodmare. Kloran is intense and sometimes scary. Some scary-looking aliens have just boarded Fortuna Tau, our little asteroid mining station. Kordolians, by the looks of things. What the hell do they want with this floating rust bucket? What are they even doing here? Come to think of it, I've never seen a Kordolian up close before. They're huge and intimidating, with strange silver skin and pointed ears. They have freaky nano-armor, and they're packing a serious arsenal. We humans stand no chance against them.

Story
Hordes of tall, grey aliens with tusks arrived in spaceships the size of cities. Before the news channels went dark, humans named the creatures orcs. The human armies fought and failed. War crimes were committed on both sides. Eventually, when food supplies failed, society collapsed and the government was overthrown. Humans turned on each other. Nowhere was safe. The orcs rounded up the survivors and locked them away in refugee camps. In the fullness of time, some women had little grey babies.

Summary
They call him the Mad Horde King for a reason. Now, she’s his....
Over a year ago, I was ripped away from my human village to serve the Ghertun, a brutal enemy alien race. With the lives of my family at risk, I am tasked to deliver a message to the one place no human has ever gone before: the capital city of Dakkar.
Before I succeed, however, I am captured by a horde king. A horde king of the Dakkari, a merciless barbaric race bred for war and violence that rule over the hostile and unforgiving planet of Dakkar.
And this horde king? He’s the most ruthless and insane of them all - with his scarred face, glowing red eyes, and his wicked, dark grin that hides an even darker past.
I am no one. I am quiet, meek, and fearful...and yet, this fearsome king wants me in his furs. I tremble when he touches me, but he awakens my desire, something I fear I’ll crave...all while I struggle to save my family.
Now, the mad horde king has me in his possession.
I fear he never intends to let me go.

Mad for the Mad Horde King
The third in the series of Horde King books (I pray not the last), I eagerly awaited the audio version of this book. I'm absolutely enamored with the series, and can imagine at least four or five more based on this very clever world that is so richly developed in this and the previous two books. The narration on this (dual narration, thank you!) was absolutely perfect. This story has a supernatural aspect to it that the others do not, but it doesn't detract from the more prevalent and compelling love story between two individuals broken by familial loss. So worthwhile, but you MUST read the previous two books first.

🌻Horde Life had always fascinated me🌻
🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
I enjoyed the first two books more than this one because there was more focus on the daily happenings of Horde life. However, this was a touching, although somewhat predictable, story. ( Aren’t all romances?)
The Horde King, in this book, is a tortured soul with a horrific past. The Heroine has her own issues and together they reassemble their broken souls.
There is a bit of angst, caused by truths unspoken but, all is well, in the end!
With it’s 13 hour length, I definitely think this is a credit worthy listen!

Epic! A slow burn but very good
A very well written story that focuses on more than the sexual attraction and details.
I certainly hope this story gets expanded and explores Vienne’s sister and the Horde King’s right hand man....as well as the new beginnings for the freed slaves of the Ghertun. There’s lots of room and direction for this book alone. A great blend of sci-fi, romance, fantasy, action and adventure! More....more...more please! 😀

A Horde King and Human with Powers Join, Book 3
This book places two together, a Horde King considered mad and heated temper, and a human slave for another species connect. The h has power to know the feelings of others and change them, if needed.
The mystical portions of this story brought mystery and a binding between the two.
I enjoyed revisiting the characters from previous two books. Also the mystery of why the animals are acting strangely and moving....what is happening.
Waiting to listen to the next book.Love the narrators!

Love can be found in unexpected places.
I really liked this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable although it does talk about slavery, abuse, and assault (physical and se*_al). The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. The Dothikar was a major jerk and definitely needed some comeuppance as his punishment for how he treated others. Vienne was sweet but had some issues doing what needed to be done. The mad horde king was drawn to Vienne. The way that Vienne and the king spent time together and learned about each other made me smile. I loved their happily ever after. I recommend reading this book. Or listening to the audiobook as that was pretty great too.

Narration ruins a great story
Upfront: male narrator was pretty good!
female narrator ruined the book for me. She spends the whole book whispering and goes out of her way to have an annoying soft voice. I ended up reading the female chapters and listening to the male chapters on audiobook.
Story is solid. The world building is the best part of the book.
Sex scenes were cringe worthy and were ruined by the author’s overuse of the word ‘suckle’ 🤮 Ruins the sex scenes-Instantly.

The world expands and the series plot thickens!
I enjoyed this installment of the horde king series better than the second and possibly as much or more than the first. The “mad” horde king was actually tormented by visions of dead people but most especially was haunted by his dead twin sister who was brutally murdered and betrayed. In his grief and rage, he is then taken advantage of and tormented by a woman who trains and manipulates his rage. It is this not surprising that he feels protective of the little human who steals into the capital city and begs for his mercy. He allows her to escape but she doesn’t want to escape. She has a mission to free her family from the lizard people. She eventually speaks with the king about the lizard king’s conditions of truce(?) which the king ignores but the warriors see it as an opportunity to infiltrate their lizard enemies. The mad king takes Vienne into his custody to “help” and they fall in love. That’s basically the story. But the story telling is really lovely and the way they care for each other is so sweet and gentle. They have their secrets that eventually get out but I didn’t get the sense of betrayal of each other that I felt in the second book. I really felt these two fought for each other and rescued each other. That was the beauty of this book. Well done! I hope there will be more!
