About this listen
Every second generation of the Hale line dies at the hands of an unnameable monster on his 80th birthday. The current Lord Hale turns 80 this Saturday.
To protect himself, Lord Hale has invited paranormal investigation experts Tempest Michaels and Amanda Harper, plus their friends and a whole host of other guests from different fields of supernatural exploration for a birthday dinner at his mansion.
As they sit down for dinner, the lights start to dim and a moaning noise disturbs the polite conversation.
Has Lord Hale placed his faith in the right people, or has he just led them to share his doom?
Finding themselves trapped, Tempest and Amanda, with friends Big Ben and Patience, must join forces with a wizard, some scientists, occult experts, ghost chasers, witches, and other assorted idiots as they fight to make it through the night in one piece.
Could this be their final adventure? Will Tempest, finally, be proven wrong about the paranormal?

scooby style mystery
I really enjoyed this book, its just the right mix of mystery, creepy, thriller, shenanigans that I like from a story. For the first half of the book you find yourself questioning if there is a person behind the haunting or something truly supernatural and this helps build the suspense as you try to figure out what is actually going on, even as the guests do.
A definite plus on the side of this book is that even though it is part of a series, (book 13 I think), so has established characters and relationships, you don't need to know the rest of the books to enjoy this one. Each character gets their own little moment, and we quickly see the relationships between them so don't need the previous stories, though I'm sure these would add more depths to all the characters, it is a good, strong stand alone story and I really enjoyed all the twists and turns it took.
Heather Tracy absolutely makes this book. Her narration adds flare and fun to the characters and you can feel her enjoyment in reading the story while listening.

A great story
I really enjoyed this book. Amanda Harper works for Tempest Michael's Blue Moon detective agency. They receive an invite to Lord Hales mansion. But the dinner turns sinister and Amanda finds herself hiding from a monster that has been haunting the Hales family for years. The narrator sounds exactly how I imagine Amanda would sound. The story keeps you guessing and gripped. Loved it. I received a free copy of this book from the author but the review is my own opinion.

Scooby Doo fan so this appeals
Format: audiobook
Narrator: Heather Tracy
I’ve seen the Blue Moon Investigation series pop up on my feed quite a lot, it’s always appealed to me but I hadn’t got round to downloading it, till now!
I probably should have started with book one to get introduced to the characters but it certainly didn’t affect my enjoyment of this story, although it has left me wanting to know more about Tempest Michaels so I’ll definitely be picking up the earlier books.
Great characters, interesting storyline and I loved the humour, the nod to Scooby Doo particularly appealed to me and had me chuckling, this was a genuinely enjoyable book.
I liked the narrator, she did a brilliant job and so added to bringing the characters to life especially Big Ben and Patience.

A fun mystery
I really enjoyed this book, it is a novel length Scooby Doo adventure (Not a criticism I love Scooby Doo) with real murders, It has a creepy house, a monster and bunch of crooks, a gang of paranormal investigators and the classic trap at the end that always works so well. It flows easily and can be read as a standalone, although this is book 13 and starting at book one would save you learning the characters Very good narration. it was smooth and easy to listen too. Perhaps a little weak on some of the dialogue but overall a fun read. Recommended, i Received a complimentary copy and am leaving a honest voluntary review.

It was okay. Not great, just okay.
I was rather disappointed in this book. Fair play though, the narration was really good.
