Summary

Don't fall for your enemy...especially when he's your new roommate.

Dean Evans is the worst. Not only does the devil in disguise steal my pie on a regular basis, he also lives in the apartment right. Next. Door.

I see him all the time. At the mailboxes. In the elevator. Every single morning. It's exhausting...because he's exhausting.

Now, after setting his apartment on fire, he's my roommate...and he's the worst at that, too. I don't know what possessed me to let him stay with me. Pity, perhaps? I do know that I won't be falling for his charm. Or that panty-dropping smirk. His quick wit. That body he works so hard for. Nope. Not falling for any of it...least of all him.

There might be a fine line between love and hate, but I know exactly where I stand.

Couldn’t finish

I couldn’t finish this book. Unfortunately, i found it boring and just didn’t grasp my attention. The narrators weren’t the issue. This book just wasn’t for me.

Funny, easy to listen to read

I have already read the paperback of this book so I had some expectations in my head of how the characters would sound to me. I’ve got to say that they both were delivered quite nicely! The pace was great, and both voices were smooth and clear. Ava did a wonderful job with the h, River- and brought the personality of the character to life without being too over the top. She also did great when reading Dean on her chapters which was nice too, as it’s hard for most women to read men’s voices well. Nelson did an awesome job narrating Dean for the most part. There were times when reading monologue that it seemed a bit robotic and choppy, but when interacting with other characters conversationally he portrayed Dean wonderfully. The one thing I did not like was how he read his best friend Nolan’s character. He gave Nolan the voice persona of a weird mix between “d-bag,dumb jock and CA stoner/surfer guy” which was not enjoyable to listen to at all. The main reason being because I have read all the books, and know that Nolan is not that type of guy in the least. so for his words to sound that way, was off putting. Thankfully there were not many scenes with Nolan in them, so it was easy to get through. Overall, an easy to listen to, and enjoyable read that brought even more life to the book ☺️

Laugh Out Loud Romcom GOLD

Teagan Hunter delivered the book I never knew I needed this year. Dean Evans is the teacher that all the kids love, and the neighbor River White loves to loathe--especially when he steals her favorite Cherry pie from the Gravy Train. their mutual hate escalates to passion when Dean's apartment catches fire and River volunteers her guest bedroom for him to crash in.

Like I said before, Teagan Hunter delivered with this one. I absolutely LOVED reading and listening to the Hunter's signature back and forth banter come to life with the audiobook, giving the story a different dimension and visualization that I hadn't experienced before with her novels. Dean and River's personalities clashed and meshed in the best ways possible and I think it is safe to believe that this could be my favorite book in the series so far (perks of reading them out of order)! From the side characters to the main cast, I adored each and every one of them--especially Dean's emotional support turtle, Leo.

Both Ava Erickson and Nelson Hobbs did an out of this world job narrating the audiobook for this story. They truly brought this story to life. Having listened to Ava before in previous novels (and ADORED HER) I'm excited to say that Nelson has probably/most definitely been added to my favorite male narrators lists!

Listening to these two crazies fall for each other was the highlight of my crummy Friday afternoon and the bright spot to my month! If you are looking for a fun, quick enemies-to-lovers romcom that is filled to the brim with steamy sexual tension, hilarious moments that will jeopardize your bladder control, and light angst that will have you wanting to reread it again--I highly recommend you go and grab Loathe Thy Neighbor!

Entertaining

Entertaining listen. Nothing earth-shattering, but an entertaining, short romance. Fun characters and steamy romance.

Enemies to lovers has never been so fun!

He lives to torment her, she lives to snark at him until they live together and end up steaming up the entire apartment! A fun rom com listen that will have you giggling at the snark and antics while hiking up your blood pressure at the steamy bits. I will definitely listen to more of this author's books especially since I learned that this is the first audiobook in the series! It does seem that characters met or mentioned in this book are in upcoming books so I am going to assume that it would be wise to listen in order written. The narrators of this book did an outstanding job so I can't wait to hear how the next one goes!

Bratty leading lady

Concept was cute. Opening was off to an ok start. Had to stop after an hour. Lead woman is a brat, can’t accept any responsibility and if things don’t go a hundred percent her way she whines and complains and expects everyone else to change everything to suit her.

Average romance.

While not my favorite book it was cute in spots and I finished the book. I don’t think I will continue with the series as I didn’t love it and contemporary romances are not my favorite genre, but the book was free. Are there restaurant out there with the name Gravy Train? It keeps popping up in the books I have been reading, if so, I’m going to have to try it. Narrators were pretty good.

Very juvenile book.

Worked through chapter 14 and both characters are not worth a bigger time investment for me.

Get on with it…

How much complaining can she do?! So annoying. Taking forever to get anywhere. This entire book is a whining woman droning on and on

The narration is a big No for me

Sorry but the guy had this odd way of narrating this book - reminds me of William Shattner with a minuscule pause in between every single word. Just not great - I can’t even keep listening as it’s just taking me out of the story.
