About this listen
Welcome to Button, where everything’s perfect, except for the occasional murder.
Louisa Henry has had the worst year. She never imagined she would be a widow before the age of 40. To cope with the sudden loss of her husband, Lou moves across the country to live near her best friend in a town as cute as a button. Even though it means quitting her fancy New York editor job, she now owns the bookstore of her dreams.
Well, almost.
She definitely didn’t dream about a dead body showing up in her alley. Found with no identification, the police plaster the man’s face everywhere, along with the name of her bookshop, inundating Lou with negative press before she can even open. Worse, Lou was one of the last people to see him alive, and she didn’t even get his name.
Worried the mystery man’s family is left without the answers she so desperately needed in her husband’s death, Lou tries to help find the man’s identity. On closer inspection, she realizes her conversation with the mystery man was full of clues. Starting with a confusing book page he left behind, Lou follows the trail. If she can solve this mystery, her bookstore might have a chance at being known for something more than murder.

Paws for a good book.
I really enjoyed this book on my kindle but loved it even more as an audio book . Playful cats, books and a murder to solve what's not to love? A shop were you can buy books while cuddling a cat is my kind of place and would definitely be on my just visit list, oh well I guess as it is only real in the authors imagination I guess I will have to visit the rest of the series instead. I have read the author's other series and this one is not definitely in the not to be missed category. Once again the talented author has created a feel good cozy mystery for you to solve and laugh at that is just purrfect!. I liked the characters who were fun and you really got the impression of a small close knit town. I loved the names she came up with for each of the cats. The mystery was interesting and kept taking the listener in a different direction every time you thought you knew what was going on or who the killer was the story would twist on you. A well written and entertaining mystery that already has me hooked on the series, off to add the next book to my collection.
After the death of her husband Louisa is finally getting the opportunity to own the small town book shop they both dreamed of. But not everything is going to plan first she finds an abandon kitten and once word gets out that she is willing to take in unwanted cats the shop becomes full of them. The other unwanted guest is the dead body in her alleyway. The man had paid her a visit the day before and then vanished before she could find out what was wrong. Then the threatening phones calls start. Could the mysterious man has been looking for the previous owner and if so what were they up to? if Louisa wants to open her shop in time and find forever homes for the cats she will have to help the police work out who the dead man in her alley is and who wanted him dead.
The narrator is one of my favourites. I am glad she is narrating the series because she never fails to give the listener an entertaining and enjoyable experience.
