Summary

A must-have for anyone who practises yoga or is interested in the teachings of the East.

B.K.S. Iyengar, whose teachings on yoga are followed throughout the world, reflects upon his lifetime's experience on the yoga path. The structure of the book follows the different aspects of that path (from Freedom Awaits, through The Physical Body, The Energy Body, The Mental Body, The Intellectual Body, and The Divine Body, to Living in Freedom) and provides a learning framework for yoga as well as an invaluable discourse on life.

A must read for any yoga practitioner

On finishing this book my thought is that I want to go back to the beginning and listen again. This time with pen and notepad. His voice is clear and precise. His references to Patanjali are perfect for the yoga student who has also read the wonderful Yoga Sutras. It combines the old teachings with Iyengar life experience and study of yoga in a seamless harmonious fusion. I highly recommend this book.

Great narrator, awesome book

I found some amazing practical tips for yoga practice, but I also really enjoyed the spiritual musings of the author too.
I think the story of how he overcame his TB and became a teacher is very inspiring. Definitely reccomend if you enjoy yoga and yoga philosophy. The narrator seemed to be really engaged with the text and read with real meaning and intonation I felt.

Excellent book but the wrong narrator

This is such a wonderful book but the narrator just sounds like a condescending school teacher telling you you've been wrong. Content of the book is excellent however.
