About this listen
Some people like a little chaos. Not Sarah. Growing up in a house of humiliating filth means she has three crystal-clear goals:
- Get through college, however she can.
- Keep her four-year-old sister away from her mom’s hoarding.
- Never, never let disorder take over her life.
Of course, studying, working, and taking care of a toddler mean Sarah has no time for fun. Until she meets Zac.
He’s sweet, he’s funny, they have compatible plans for the zombie apocalypse. But Sarah can’t let him in. It’s not just his three drooly, sloppy dogs - with him in her life, the pristine future she’s working for would be shredded before you can say, "Down, boy!"
Sometimes falling in love is really all about letting go.

Really enjoyed this.
I got this audiobook via a promo code at my request and this is my voluntary review.
Book 4 in the College of Charleston story sadly did not actually kick off the Broken World apocalypse but it was still a great way to end this series. Sarah has been raising her little sister and trying to get by when she runs across a lost dog during her run. This leads her to meet Zac, as their connections grow, Sarah begins to see a path to a future... except shes worried how much of her secret past is threatening to cause chaos in her new relationship.
I really enjoyed this story, it deals with a strong heroine trying to deal with her mother's mental illness and coming to terms with the truth that Sometimes showing love is really all about letting go.
Narration by Alexa Elmy was very well done.

A real Heart tenderizer...
I loved book four in this series. It touched on some really deep issues and handled them really well from every characters angle. I really thought there was a lot of food for thought in this book and it was well researched and put forward in a really educational and humane way. The characters and their back stories where great and had a fluid and strong movement the whole way threw the book. All in all it was a very positive and beautiful story. Most enjoyable.
