Summary
Since the dawn of time, across almost every culture, there have been legends of shape-shifters. Men who turn into beasts and prey upon anyone unfortunate enough to cross their path. Of the shape-shifter tales, none invokes as much terror as the legend of the werewolf.
The stories of men who become wolves persisted through the centuries from campfire folk tales to the modern age, where we are still thrilled and horrified by tales of bloodthirsty predators in our midst.
Twelve of the most successful authors of werewolf fiction in the 21st century have returned to their worlds and characters to bring you a truly blood-soaked collection of werewolf horror.
The stories in the anthology include:
- "Ivan’s Night Out: A Wolf Hunt Prequel" by Jeff Strand
- "Outside of Nowhere" by Ray Garton
- "Hunters Moon" by David Wellington
- "The Kiss of Divna Antonov" by Jonathan Janz
- "The Dead Brother Situation" by Glenn Rolfe
- "Blood Relations - A High Moor Story" by Graeme Reynolds
- "Lifeline" by Paul Kane
- "The Hunt" by Thomas Emson
- "The Original" by David Watkins
- "The Great Storm" by T.W. Piperbrook
- "Hybrid: Bloodlines" by Nick Stead
- "Evernight Circle" by Matt Serafini

Werewolves by the Dozen
Interesting collection of werewolf short stories from various points of view. For the money, you can't get a better serving of werewolves. As much as I enjoyed this, I was also disappointed. I felt the collection had highs and lows and when I enjoyed one story, I didn't "feel" the next. I didn't get fully engaged in this compilation as I lost interest two-thirds through. However, I wouldn't be opposed to trying this collection again, but after I let this simmer down in my head.

Disappointing
Wanted more than just extreme werewolf violence porn. Some interesting stories but most were just werewolves being violent. I found the later stories far worse in this regard than the earlier ones with Hybrid: Bloodlines and Ivan's Night Out being especially bad in this regard. A lot of people complained about the narrator and I will grant you his accent is strong but I just focused a bit more and it was good and brought a flavor of Europe to the stories which I think helps any werewolf tale.

Entertaining, but dissapointed
I dont know, I kind of expected something different than the same old "werewolves being merciless incontrollable bloodthirsty killers massacring people left and right" in at least SOME of these. Some fresh or truly different takes like some led me to believe. Really only 2 or 3 were even close to that for me, with the rest being mostly what I said (albeit different perspectives) or showing signs of being different and then just seriously wasting it (Outside of Nowhere was a real let down for me, like, I'm making my own ending to it, I don't care.)
I mean, if you like the aforementioned kind of telling of werewolf stories you'd probably like them just fine, but I was mostly left wanting something more and different.
The narrator did a fine job, and nothing was lost in his accent for me.
Also quite a bit of sexual abuse (which I get is part of the "get what's coming to them" story bits) but if you're not comfortable with that, be weary.

I can't understand the narrator
I couldn't even get through the first story because I couldn't understand the narrator's thick accent. a shame since this one had some good authors in it.

meh
I hate to say it but the accent is a little too thick for my part of the world, PNW, spent allot of time struggling to hear what he was saying or not understanding certain words.

Irish narrator
Much as I love the Irish tongue, I missed far too many words in this collection of stories. I also wasn’t fond of the stories ending so abruptly and the next starting in the next breath. Stories were ok, but left up in the air too many times.
