About this listen
Trusting him with her life is easy. Trusting him with her heart is not.
Trenton Prescott is the bodyguard tasked with protecting billionaire Alexander Whitaker’s middle daughter after his youngest is kidnapped. Unlike Trent’s usual jobs, this wealthy socialite wants no part of her protection detail, and she’s determined to fight him at every turn.
Delaney Whitaker doesn’t mind sharing a house with the eye candy assigned as her bodyguard, but she has no intention of letting him control her. When the kidnappers finally call, they demand Delaney deliver the ransom. Against Trent’s advice, she agrees. With life and death on the line, Delaney puts her safety in Trent’s capable hands.
If only she could trust him with her heart as easily as she trusts him with her life, things might not be so complicated.

a Sweet Christian Romance - loved Trenton
Lawfully Guarded by Elle E. Kay is a Sweet Christian Romance. I loved Trenton's character, especially his desire to live out his faith and honor God. Delaney on the other hand took me a bit to warm up to, but I guess that means the author did a good job at writing a self-centered billionaire's daughter. Still, I really enjoyed her growth throughout the book and found it believable. Also, though I could see where most of the plot was heading, there was still a twist that took me by surprise. //
The narrator was really good at bringing the characters to life, as well as portray their emotions (from angered/worried to husky/seductive tones of voice). However, it took me a bit to get used to Trent's tone of voice, so, future listeners, please listen to the sample to see if this would be a good match for you. Also, I don't know if it was due to the speed at which I was listening, but I think the narration could have benefited if the pauses between scenes could have been made longer (and/or if the chapters hadn't been so long). //
Overall, and the mentioned issues notwithstanding, I did enjoy listening to this audiobook. ~ 4.5 stars and recommended :) //
