About this listen
It’s just Ted’s luck that he meets the love of his life while covered in the blood of a murder victim.
Funeral worker Ted Sturm has a foul mouth, a big heart, and a knack for communicating with the dead. Unfortunately the dead don’t make very good friends, and Ted’s only living pal, his roommate, just rescued a strange cat who’s determined to make his life even more miserable. This cat is more than he seems, and soon Ted finds himself in an alternate dimension… and on top of a dead body.
When Ted is accused of murder, his only ally in a strange world full of powerful magical beings calling for his head is King Grell, a sarcastic, randy, catlike immortal with impressive abilities… and anatomy. The two soon find themselves at the center of a cosmic conspiracy and surrounded by dangerous enemies. But with Ted’s special skills and Grell’s magic, they have a chance to get to the bottom of the mystery and save Ted. There’s just one problem: Ted’s got to resist Grell’s aggressive advances… and he isn’t sure he wants to.

Terrific Story & Narration🎧 Fun & Entertaining!
K.L. Hiers pens another fascinating novel set in their “Sucker For Love Mysteries” series, one that grabs your attention right from the start and holds it captive the entire time. This second book is Ted strum and King Grell’s story and it is a story like no other, a paranormal fantasy with a side of mystery and romance with some interesting twists and turns. Ted, a funeral worker, is in the business of working with dead bodies, and has a unique gift to communicate with the dead. Everything goes haywire for him after running into his roommate’s cat again, the next thing he knows he is in a portal to an unknown dimension, landing on top of a dead body, one they accuse him of killing, but he swears he was already dead. Ted finds himself in his very own murder mystery, but he has a king on his side, a magical king named Grell, one he clicks with and one who will help prove his innocence, but not before getting into more trouble and with loads of shenanigans. I loved the layers of this story and how it all played out, with the perfect balance of drama, witty dialogue and humor, action, mystery, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Once again, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. K.L Hiers, thank you for another fabulously entertaining story and wild ride.
🎧📚🎧And John Solo continues to do an amazing job with these characters, voicing each uniquely, grasping their personality and demeanor for the perfect portrayal of each. I loved how he took each role and owned it, sounding believable and just as I imagined the character to sound. With flawless pacing, he sets the right tone for the story, handles to witty dialogue with ease and lands the humor effortlessly. You could hear how much heart he puts into his performance as he captures all the characters’ emotions and makes you feel each one. John Solo talent knows no bounds, and his performance elevates the already fabulous story to another level. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to.

Funny romantic murder mystery
This story was so much fun! Funny, romantic, with a hint of murder …
It’s a standalone, so you don’t have to listen to the first book (but do it anyway!)
John! Always amazing with all voices!
