It hits the fan.
Unlike the previous books, this one is almost nonstop action. Ralph Lister, once again, delivers his best performance thus far. Darren Shan is both heartwarming and ruthless in his story telling. 5/5

Oh my
This guy really knows how to do cliffhangers, oh boy, parts of this story though do show how young and naive Darren can be, but it’s done SO WELL! 3 books to go. And I’m hanging on now just like I was when I was a child.

great narration
the overall story feels forced but is passable.
but the moment to moment story and flow is still on par with the earlier books so it still is okay.

excellent writing and performance
Not one character or voice performance is out of place in this book. I have become rather engrossed in this entire storyline and the performance helps this in every aspect. North me and my daughter are now listening alongside each other and talk about the characters and storyline.
