Summary

A sinister cult. A body in the woods. A mystery more devious than Annabelle’s diet….

Reverend Annabelle Dixon has pulled out all the stops to earn the affection of the handsome Inspector Nicholls. She’s even done the unthinkable, and sworn off sweets…for a bit.

But when all her efforts come to naught, Annabelle seeks comfort and distraction in the affairs of her parish. When she hears of strangers moving into a house on the edge of the village, Annabelle decides to pay these new residents a visit. What she finds is a quirky cult and a ritual that sends her fleeing into the woods…where she promptly trips over a dead body!

Killer at the Cult is the sixth in a furiously fast-paced, funny new series featuring a young female vicar whose passion and dedication to her parish are matched only by her weakness for cake..

If you like quaint English towns, mysterious characters, laugh-out-loud humour, and a touch of sweet romance, then you’ll love Alison Golden’s deliciously humorous storytelling.

This series of books are clean cozy mysteries that contain no swearing or graphic descriptions of violence or bedroom activities.

Always a good vicar

I enjoyed this book and as the characters keeping telling Annabelle ' she is always a good vicar' to have around when there is a murderer to catch. Although I grew up watching the likes of Father Dowling I don't think I would have picked a priest or vicar as the main character for a series but this author has turned my beliefs upside down and I think Annabelle makes for a great one. Kind, compassionate, clever and most of all capable and I just love her and the series. This is book six in the series and I would recommend the previous books, i have given each a four or five star review, as each is just as good as the last and they continue to entertain and surprise me . The mystery was another one that kept me guessing, despite the clues being there. Look forward to the next book and to see how the sweet romance progresses.
Reverend Annabelle Dixon is surprised and shocked to see how the villagers are treating strangers to her small village. There beliefs, actions and clothes set them apart and Annabelle goes out of her way to make them feel welcome. Even going so far as to watch one of there ceremonies but when a body is discovered in the woods, even she has to wonder how far they are willing to go. With Mike out of town at a conference Annabelle will have to learn to work with a new detective, a detective who has already decided who is responsible. Can Annabelle change his mind by finding the real killer? When a second body is found it looks like the killer isn't finished and Annabelle will have to work fast to stop anymore deaths.
I like the narrator. She is a good choice for the Reverend and helps the story come alive with the different voices she gives the characters.
I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntary left this review.
