There’s only one rule in the world I come from. Keep our existence a secret. Period. The day my sister broke that rule one too many times, I knew there would be consequences. I expected us to be sent to one of those schools for “troubled” kids - and maybe Daizlei Academy was, in a way. But really, it was far more complicated than that. You see, I thought that world had forgotten me. Forgotten us. For years we were left alone, and one day...we weren’t. It was only when I got there that I remembered the second rule: Trust no one.

It is kind of ok, in a hindsight
I will just put this into two groups.
The PLUS side
-The whole series one in one go - means only 1 credit
- The idea is very good
- Some of the characters are fun
The MINUS
- The narration is simply awful (Please Ms. Beresford, whispering and whisper shouting is not your strong point. Also, do speed it up a little, it is painful at normal speed). I wonder if I became opposed to main character thanks to it or not, didn´t help though. Oh, also, Vampyrus is Latin name of flying fox- maybe pronounce it more as in Latin, because pronouncing it as here makes it sound as something else and a bit ridiculous. It is not papyrus- we are used to it being pronounced in anglicised way as it does not have English name.
- Main character is an idiot, she can figure what underwear you wear from your spit but misses so many obvious clues, it is hard not to call her names throughout the book, books, all the time really- I hate her
- The character of Luke is completely vapid- yay to me, I never called anybody vapid in my life, but it is so fitting.

Annoying narrator
I had to stop listening 1/4 of the way through because the narrator’s voice was just so annoying. Her over-the-top “old lady” voice made me cringe. Who sounds like that? Ever? It was like an episode of Scooby-Doo! The sound effects, like the echo when she’s calling out to the hooded guy following her, sounded so RIDICULOUS! It really took away from what seemed like a good story. I’ll be putting away my headphones, requesting my credit back and picking up my Kindle instead!!

Tedious
The story is OK, but not much else is. Narrating is not good, sound effects are distracting and all the character sound the same. Audio is off a lot throughout the whole book. I had to skip ahead many times and didn't feel I missed much.

About the Performance...
This series is great, but almost stop listening multiple times due to voice and tempo of narrator. But I played around and adjusted the speed of play, took it up couple notches, and had no issues after. I think it's slowed somehow. But raise speed a bit and it's great!

Good Story but production issues
Great story with very lovable / hateable characters. There were quiet a few areas that repeated some a few words, some almost a sentence. Nothing that would turn me off of the book, but it got to be frustrating after the 6th or seventh time.

Great story
I really really hated how idiotic Kiera is. She had good vision at the start, then saw nothing after she found about vampires etc. Potter is daft... She misreads everything... Seems like she lost her gift in the first book. Outside of that, I liked the story line.
Technical side... issues with editing with the same sentences being repeated.

Tiresome narration
This story may have been a work of art, but the narrative was so disparate that I felt I was slogging through a junior high production that lasted for days and days, and ruined it for me. the narrative was so juvenile, the heroine so whingy, and did not enhance the emotional sagas of these books. Another narrator would probably have done it justice... we'll never know, I guess.

More Like two and half stars.
The more I listen to this book the more I start to really dislike it. The main female character is basically useless in a fight and the narrator just keeps getting more and more annoying with high pitched whining etc. I just can't listen to anymore of this series. What a waste of a credit. Urgh!!!!
