Summary

Nicole Parsons had the perfect life, made complete with the suburban home and the proverbial white picket fence. When tragedy struck and she lost the most important people in her life, she turned away from everything she loved before; shutting out every reminder of the perfect life she lost.

It has been one year, three months, one week, and six days since the accident, and Nicole is ready to stop counting the days she’s survived, and begin living again. On a dare from her best friend, Nicole encounters Zack Walters—the popular alternative rock star and man who signifies so much of her past—and suddenly, everything in Nicole’s safe and quiet life changes.

When she’s forced to face the pain she’s carried for so long, will she truly be able to heal from her past and begin to live again? Or, will her new adventure ruin her completely?

Lovely!

This has been an emotional listen so well told by Meghan Kelly and Neil Thorne I did find myself deeply affected by many parts of the story, especially near the beginning and my heart broke for Nicole. Zack is a fabulous character. A wary rockstar who meets a beautiful woman who has absolutely no idea who he is! Caring, careful and kind, he is just what Nicole needs. I loved this story and both narrators were fab. 💖💖💖💖

A star romance!

Tragedy has Nicole living but not really living. When her bff takes her to a bar one night and she meets Zack her life changes. I loved how she just didn’t know who was Zack and he did too. It led to a great romance, full of care and comfort but also laughter and love and music. Great listen!

Wow

This one is so beautifully and heartbreakingly written. It is the perfect book to make you appreciate all the little things in life and the people in my life. I loved it, the interactions between the whole cast, the hope the strength of character and most of all the ability to overcome grief. This does have some heavy topics but they are handled so well. It’s believable, the way grief ebbs and flows and the way it takes over but also the emergence from under its heavy weight.

I loved the narration and the characters and the whole book, its a wonderful experience.

Great story

I really enjoyed listening to Zac and Nicole’s story they met when she was ready to take her life back. She had been through trauma a year ago and all she had was her parents and Mia to help her through it all.

Emotionally charged rockstar romance

Nicole Parsons has made it through a horrific tragedy and with the support and encouragement of her BFF Mia is out on her first evening out with her friend. It’s been over a year and Nicole’s still counting the days her life changed. Her heart is still fragile and broken but she is willing to try living again because of her well intentioned friend giving her a wee push. Dared to buy a stranger a drink Nicole meets a sexy man who unwittingly turns out to be no other than Zack Walter from a popular alt-rock band. And in turn Zack is smitten by the sexy woman who didn’t know who he was. How often has Zack had the chance to be himself around a woman, and a beautiful one at that!

I listened to the audiobook version of this book. While I did enjoy both performances there were some editing issues but I believe they were corrected.

Meghan Kelly and Neill Thorne are great in this rockstar romance. Stacey has written an emotionally charged story of loss, and learning to live again. It’s also a story of love and acceptance.

Not sure I could overcome the huge loss Nicole has endured and Meghan’s performance brought out the emotional journey as Nicole works through her loss and in finding herself again while navigating her budding emotions to Zack.

Zack is self assured and patient for a rockstar. I’m not sure Nicole would have been able to navigate her feelings without the amazing patience he provided in their relationship.

I’m excited and hopeful to hear Mia and the rest of the band members stories but this was an awesome emotional start for the series.

enjoyed

I love the dual narration of Meghan Kelly and Neill Thorne, both are perfect to listen too.

This story gets better and stronger as you listen. It has a mix of sadness and happiness throughout the book.
Tragic life of Nicole and the sad lonely life of Zach make a loving, emotional story together. The supporting characters are great and can see other stories in the future.

Beautiful

Nicole and Zack's story has heartbreaking circumstances but their overall story is absolutely beautiful, They completely fill the gaping holes that were in both their lives.
Love these lines in the story.
"I don't want you to forget them, Nicole. I'm not asking you to let them go,
I just want you to make room for me too."
"I can give you my whole heart, Zack. They have so much of it already.”
(Zack) "If you can give me half as much as I love you, it will be more than enough." The audio version is a plus, the narrator did well.

Needs to be re-edited!!!!!

It was a great story line but it needs to be fixed!!! There’s a long pause between chapters with multiple repeated sentences.!! Also the hero only reads about 3 chapters!!!!! So it’s basically told by the female narrator

Good story

This is the first in the series. The author does a good job making the characters seem realistic. I really felt for Nicole and her situation. I am also glad she decided to stwp outside her box and see what or in this case who was there. The story is tough at times due to content but its real. Mia is a hoot! Who doesnt want a bff like her!

I did listen to this on audio. Meghan Kelly and Neill Thorne are the narrators and they both do a nice job. Next please

Emotional and Beautiful!

This is the first book in the series. Wow! I loved it! Nicole and Zack's story is beautifully written, emotional, heartbreaking, and heartwarming afterward. Nicole is such a fantastic character, strong survivor, and resilient. Zack is very handsome, supportive, and caring. They are perfect together. Their story is filled with angst, hope and romance. Meghan Kelly and Neill Thorne did an excellent job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listening to Just One Regret, the next book in the series.

Just One Song 🎵 🎶

Just One Song (Just One Song #1) is a rock star romance with a flip twist to the trope. Zach Walters is a well put together rocker who is well entrenched. The writing style is emotionally charged with romance. Nicole Parsons is more fragile and has dealt with tremendous loss and pain trying to start a new life. Adventure sprinkled into the words. Supporting character's made the scene bringing entertainment. A comtempory sweet romance story with a well balanced storyline,

Meghan Kelly, Neill Thorne dual narration was 85% Meghan vocalizing Nicole's thoughts. Her inflection was smooth and brought out Nicole's emotions perfectly. Neil portrayed Zach Walters perfectly.

*Please note I gave the 5 star performance based on performance and did not lower due to technical issues of the audio. I'm assuming the technical issues have already been corrected by now or they are working on them. But the audio I listened to had big pauses between chapters, etc.

Emotional and full of hope!

Emotional charged and a beautiful romance, Stacey Lynn pens the wonderful story of Nicole and Zack. Zack is a rock star, flocked by groupies, but he has no interest in them. He sees Nicole and is instantly taken. Nicole has the same attraction for Zack, but her life is complicated. A tragedy like no other is holding her back. Will these two find their way to happiness? I love rock star romances! Zack is the kind of man I dream about. He is successful, but knows what he wants and is patient. Nicole has a lot to overcome, something I am not sure I would be able to,so I love how she finds her way. This is an angsty listen, but full of love and hope. I enjoyed their journey along with the secondary characters. Looking forward to more from this series.

Meghan Kelly and Neill Thorne are our hosts for this story, and they are fabulous. Kelly has such a great voice, able to bring in the pain Nicole goes through, but we can hear the changes in her as the story progresses. Thorne has that smooth and warm voice, perfect as Zack. He has the patience and love oozing through and melting our hearts. This is a great team and an enjoyable listen.

Fabulous Story & Listen🎧 Captivating & Heartfelt!

This is a fantastic rockstar romance novel, and I loved everything about it, from Stacey Lynn’s wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines she created to the perfectly cast narrators who bring it all to life from the pages to your ears. I am a big fan of rockstar romance, heck I am a big fan of rock stars in general, many times it is the rocker who is angsty and broken but Stacey Lynn puts her own unique spin on the trope, giving us an established, level-headed rocker who has gotten to the stage of his life to know what he wants and when he sees it he goes for it except, she does not want him because of who he is. I adored the two lead characters, Nicole Parsons and Zack Walters, there are some great secondary and support characters too. Nicole Parsons had it all, but that all changed in a blink of an eye and the only thing that remained was her grief, a grief she has struggled with for over a year. Her good friend Mia was there for her the entire time, but now she is trying to get her out of her funk and back into the world of the living. She finally gets her to go out for some cocktails and Mia, knowing Nicole would not turn down a dare, dares her to find a guy to flirt with and get him to buy her a drink. She had her eye on the guys hiding in the back booth and went for it. Zach was hanging out with Chase, his friend and bandmate, when she started a conversation with them. They did not know what her deal was, but they went along with it and, after realizing she did not know who they were, Zach found her to be amusing and wanted to spend more time with her. Nicole still struggles with her what she lost and is not sure if she could move past it and when she tries other things freak her out, things she is not sure she can handle. Zach is a patient and understanding man and he does not give up on her. This beautifully written and plotted story has all the feels and there is a perfect balance of drama, heartfelt emotions and sweet romance. Stacey Lynn, thank you for this wonderful story and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Meghan Kelly and Neill Thorne are talented narrators and voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit the character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Meghan Kelly nails it as Nicole, capturing her every emotion and has you feeling every single one. Neil Thorne jumps in for the several chapters told in Zach’s point of view and he rocked it, playing the role with perfection. Both were great at performing the roles of the secondary character as well. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhances an already fantastic story to another level. Thank you for another wonderful listen.
