Summary
Jud Low had been through his share of hard times and troubles. He’d seen his friend killed, the ranch and cattle stolen. But Jud and his partner, Ted Lewis, had taken revenge for their friend and gotten his life’s work back. Now, all Jud wanted to do was have a dance with a pretty new waitress that had come to town. Getting together a dance at the last minute wasn’t easy, but Jud managed it. The dance with the new waitress, Nancy, lasted longer than he’d bargained for, with her returning to the ranch with him. After a month, she was kidnapped by a man whose brother Jud had killed. Gary Cribs was set on avenging his brother Larry’s death. Against his better judgement, Jud gives in and agrees to pay the price of the ransom Cribs had demanded. He had no idea that it would lead him on the chase of a lifetime to regain the money that would be swindled from him when he realized Gary Cribs and his kidnap victim were in cahoots.

What a great Western!
This is the second book by John Thurmond that I've listened to and it was just as great as the first! The characters were interesting and the story was well-developed enough to keep you engaged and wanting more.
The narration was also sensational. Highly recommend for those who enjoy this genre!

A great cowboy tale
If you love short snappy cowboy tales you'll love this book, I love how the girlfriend was kidnapped, and flung over a horse with a bag over her head, I could instantly see it in my mind's eye, another great addition to the cowboy series.

A fun quick Western
Jeblo is a cowboy who took Nancy home after a dance he had at the local livery. After all he needed an excuse to bring her to a dance. He took her home and after a month he got tired of her complaining and always wanting to go back to town. So he took a break to check the back fence is furthest from his ranch home. This is where he was when his ranch in Gonzales, come to tell him Nancy had been kidnapped. His first feeling was a relief and then it dawned on him that it would be up to him to get her back. It wasn’t until he was in Austin trying to figure out who took her in what he looked like Ann his motives were. When he realized it was the same man whose brother he shot in his own corral. The swindlers who took his best friends ranch and then killed him. This was a fun Quick listen and I loved Brooks Corlies narration. These are fun Western and I can’t wait to read more. Please forgive any mistakes in my review I am blind and dictate most of it, But all opinions are my own.
