Summary

It meets Ready Player One.

Blood will flow through the streets of Shelley Town.

Billy Rain is a 14-year-old kid with two close friends with one thing in common. Their parents created the most successful computer game of the '90s. Now, in 2002, Billy finds a game console on the grounds of the abandoned Matterson house.

Playing the game, Billy and his friends realize it’s a map. They go out at night and dig. What they find, under the cold ground, is a decaying human hand.

An evil like no other is released from its grave: Jack Matterson. He’s back from the dead and out to take revenge on the kids of those who wronged him.

I've not listened to many horror books but I'm glad I listened to this one.
It was not what I expected wren I started it I thought it was going to be a simple ghost story I was wrong but in good way.

It started off with feel of one one of them young adult books you would read in school about a group of kids on a summer adventure who are trying solve a mystery It quickly becomes a something out of a nightmare but in a werid way still feels like that book for young adults.

Very well written and performed great charters and a great setting well worth the time

Most Entertaining.

A really entertaining listen. I enjoyed this book from start to finish and couldn't put it down. The children were likeable characters and the plot although crazy was addictive. The story certainly brought back many memories of games this at the time 40 odd year old teenager was playing in the 1990's, and this for me made it even more enjoyable. yes, there are "Oh Yuck!" moments and maybe the book is not for someone with a weak stomach but it could be much worse. LOL! Karl Jenkinson's narration was great and really brought all the characters to life, Highly recommended listen.
I was kindly given a copy of this book by the narrator and leave this honest review voluntarily.

Not my usually listen

This audio book isn't my usually listen but thought I would give it a go. I quite enjoyed the story over all and the narrator did a good job. I will definitely be looking for more books from Andrew.

It was an ok listen

The narrator was fine, the story not so much. Others talked about nostalgia for the time the games were set in etc. but I thought it quite lacking in any detail in that respect. It's a story more suited to teens I think. I wish I hadn't used a credit.
