Critic reviews

"This is the freshest, most honest collection of writings about mental health that I've read...searing wit, blinding passion, bleeding emotion and a fantastic, heroic, glorious refusal to lie down and take it." (Stephen Fry)

"Reading this book made me feel more normal about the things I feel sometimes.... It's a great book; however you're feeling, it'll help." (Ed Sheeran)

"This is the book I needed when I was little. May this be a leap forward in the much needed conversation around mental health." (Jameela Jamil)

Thank you

I had to write to say thank you to everyone who write a piece for this wonderful book. I listen too it as an audio book but also book a hard copy so I can keep coming back to it. As someone who has suffered from many mental health problems for all of my teen/adult life. There’s so much I took away from the book. Every piece was so articulate and helped put words to things I have been feeling but not had the words to express. Would definitely recommend this book to everyone. Xxx

Hard to listen to at times approach with caution

Having had my own mental health battle this book intrigued me, but whilst I knew that So many people have mental health issues, actually sitting through 8 hours of dark stories was hard going and did impact my mental well-being.

With only a tiny splattering of helpful tips in the book the relentless sadness this was a tough read.

Also an interesting approach to narrators. Some contributors read their own pieces but the rest are read by two generic narrators. It’s not a bad setup but I enjoyed hearing authors read their own contributions.

Amazing

Genuinely one of the most life changing books I’ve ever read. I’ve you’ve ever struggled with mental health or know someone who has this is a must read. I loved how many of the accounts were read by the people who wrote them. Brilliant, brilliant book

Brilliant

A thought-provoking, inspiring and sobering collection of so many stories and reflections. I will listen to all of these again some day. It's ok to be me.

Your not alone in your suffering

A fantastic book for anyone who struggles with their mental health. I'll be keeping this one and playing again as it reminds me I'm not the only one who gets like this which is easily forgotten when not feeling well

a geniue feeling of not being alone

This audiobook has opened up a new chapter of my life to have listened to true stories from people who have opened up about their mental health and it's an honour to have come across such a compelling and impacting book that I can connect to.
