About this listen

Waking up in a desolate cell, Gaia realizes she has been kidnapped by a human trafficking organization, doomed to be sold to the highest bidder and unable to remember anything before her capture. An opportune rescue by Raoul, the Prince of Kayamato, saves her from a gruesome future, and throws her into a world of luxury and privilege.

As she struggles to regain her memory, Gaia learns that her rescue was no accident and finds herself in even more danger.

Fighting for sanity and survival, she works to unravel the truth behind her capture, each revelation more shocking than the last. The intricate web of deceptions spun around her will shatter her world, leaving her unsure if she will ever trust again.

Great story

While it was great narration and I enjoyed the story I think the world could have been fleshed out a bit more. Never the less a great fantasy with some dark twists.

This was Really Good

I absolutely loved this book. It started out on one path and went down another. This book follows Gaya in learning who she is in the first place. When she was taken, she lost her memory and she meets new people along the way of getting it back. She also has quite the adventure and has two men vying for her attention. Them finding out she's a princess makes things more interesting. Definitely a must on the listen / Tbr.

The narrator was new to me but did an amazing job

Enjoyable

I was given a code and asked to review the book honestly.
This wasn't a book I would normally choose but I really enjoyed listening to it.
The narrator did a great job too.

Lots of twists with deception

For a short story this book had plenty of twists and turns with plenty of deception.
The timeline was a bit confusing to start with but was definitely a good listen and will look out for book 2 when it’s out

Trust

Brilliant narration from Elizabeth Kelly

This book is great, dark, disturbing and absolutely captivating. Gaia was kidnapped by a human trafficking organization , she can't remember anything but her name . Gaia is "saved" by Raoul . Memories slowly return, how can she trust.

The title says it

This book is a bit like an audio version of a soap opera. Characters are good... then evil (or vice verse). There is never a moment without melodrama. Everyone is where they aren’t supposed to be... and not where they should be. And you need a scorecard to keep up with who is on which side at any given time— and who knows what when.

I found the ‘romance’ parts were a bit discordant. Our heroine fell in lust all the time, but never acted on any of it for unfathomable reasons. Sort of like it’s meant to be erotica but the author didn’t want to write sex scenes... it’s hard to explain, but this one hits a weird in between where it’s all lust, not live, but no actual lust...
