Summary

A young man enters the culverted remains of an ancient Glasgow stream, looking for thrills. Deep below the city, it is decaying and claustrophobic and gets more so with every step. As the ceiling lowers to no more than a couple of feet above the ground, the man finds his path blocked by another person. Someone with his throat cut.

As DS Rachel Narey leads the official investigation, photographer Tony Winter follows a lead of his own, through the shadowy world of urbexers, people who pursue a dangerous and illegal hobby, a world that Winter knows more about than he lets on. And it soon becomes clear that the murderer has killed before and has no qualms about doing so again.

Don't bother

I returned this book after listening for the first hour. It was pretty boring but the one thing I could not get on with was the narrator. This book is set in Glasgow (the place of my birth) so why oh why use a narrator from the Republic of Ireland trying to do a Glasgow accent and ending up sounding like a very bad northern Irish accent. The characters in the book are all Glaswegian. I just could not get past this, so although the actual story may have improved with time I could not listen to any more.

ANOTHER BAD AUDIBLE EXPERIENCE

Any additional comments?

Doesn't download - simple as that. SO waste your time if you wish.

Once easy simple and certain Audible service continues to plummet. Many times recently I have attempted to download titles only to get one part of another but not both. Being only in one part of course I get none of this title.

And yes the ever obsequious audible 'help' will be there, only it isn't really is it. Oh yeah I can get my money back (thanks!) but does this compensate for the browsing, downloading and then attempted listen, the re-download etc etc then the phone call. I'm skipping the 'oh you wanted this did you, well you can't have it' kind of disappointment.

I see a comment now from another reviewer having exactly the same issue and nothing gets done, it just sits there faulty waiting to waste others time week upon week.

Sort it out Audible.

Can I get one of these 'did you have an accident' lawyers to sue Audible for the waste of time on this and other titles I wonder?
