Breath of fresh air

Loved the northern, Yorkshire accent and one liners! This is so different from the recent books I’ve listened to. The author must had a great imagination and sense of humour.
I did get a little confused midway but everything unfolded to reveal a really good story!
I wish I could find another book a funny as this.

Good but flawed

Whilst overall I enjoyed it, i have some critique…

I found quite a lot of both the plot and delivery a little shallow and lacking the scientific depth required to make it believable. Others have done similar things much better (Stephen king and Blake crouch etc)
The male voice work for “Nick” I found extremely cheesy and cheap which really detracted from what should have been a decent character. Bee was somewhat better fortunately

Having said this it’s still certainly worth a credit as long as you suspend your disbelief at the door

Had me hooked!

A very different love story which had me gripped from the beginning. Loved the humour and the clever way in which it was written with twists and turns. Would recommend!

Impossible not to love.

Sometimes a book comes along and sweeps you off your feet. This was one of those books. Sad that it’s ended. Sad that I don’t get to know any more of B and Nick’s story. If you liked ‘Sweet Sorrow’ and ‘One Day’ then this is for you. Don’t hesitate. If I didn’t know this was a David Nicholls novel, I’d think it was. If you wanted Jaime and Brienne to end up together- don’t hesitate. This is the book I wanted both ‘Normal People’ and ‘The Man Who Didn’t Call’ to be. I listened to the very end three times, just to be sure.

Special love for the narrator who played Nick. It’s got to be a film surely. Please! Please can we have Julian Rhind-Tutt play Nick? So, it’s five stars from me- it’s impossible to give it less.

Couldn’t put it down !

What a brilliant book! I really had no idea what this was about and wasn’t let down. I was introduced to this book by my book club and hadn’t known of the author beforehand, but now I’m going to keep a lookout for more by Sarah Lotz.
It certainly makes you wonder if there is life on the “other side” as they say. I wasn’t expecting the twist at the end either, but just a shame it had to end.
