Summary

Claudia....
My life was irrevocably changed that night; the night I was taken. I saved a man's life, but at what cost to myself? Can I convince him to save me in return?

I hate him for what he's done to me. But the longer I'm trapped with him, the harder it is to cling to that hatred. He is an enigma of a man, one who is shockingly arrogant, sweetly contrite, and frighteningly aggressive by turns. And the pain in his eyes is a mirror for my own.

The longer I remain in his grip, the more confused I become.

Is my freedom worth betraying him?

Sean....
My captive is beautiful, cunning, and defiant. The alluring combination pleases the monster in me. I want to conquer that defiance and take possession of her beauty. I crave to claim her innocence and keep it for myself.

But the man I am knows nothing could be more wrong.

I have to decide which is stronger: the monster or the man? Either way, one thing's for certain. I'm never letting her go.

I couldn't even finish...Ugh...the narrator

The narrator for this book completely ruined it for me. I could not even finish it. I used one of my precious credits because this very same book has 4 3/4 stars on Kindle. So basically I am going to need to read it. Who in the heck has time for that. I will put it in my Kindle library for next year in hopes that I can scrub the narrator's voice from my brain. Jason Winters sounds like a short, plump nerdy guy that still lives in his mothers basement playing video games. Not a young, powerful take charge handsome guy who is a member of the Irish mob. This guy should not be reading any type of romance. I am going to request a return of my credit. Such a waste!!
Also, I am curious to know if the main character refers to his friend as buddy when he wanted him to do something in the Kindle version. Buddy isn't a manly word that someone from the Irish mob would utilize without sarcasm or condemnation. Just sayin :(.

I tried to like this book but it's a hard listen.

The female on this book does extremely annoying and stupid crap and the man isn't realistic. He is way to much of a softie.
I DO NOT CARE FOR EITHER OF THE NARRATORS.
I did like how the make FBI agent is a good man and not made out to be a horrible person.
I thought this was an actual real Dark Romance and to some it might be but it's not nearly Dark anough for me.

narrator..... not a fan

I honestly read this book before n loved it. But I couldn't bring myself to listen to the narrator for more than 10 minute. I couldn't picture hottie bdsmb when the narrator's voice reminded me of a nice grandfather.... mood killer really. sorry. only being honest. *shrug*

ok story, terrible narration

The narrationis awful. The male narrator sounds like a mix between Kermit and one of those announcers you'd hear on a 90s kids show. The woman was not much better. I've read the series and wanted to hear the audio versions. While this is far from being on of my favorites in the series, it still deserves better treatment then this. Neither of these voice actors should read romance novels ever again

Unfortunate Naration

This might be a good story in print but these narrators make it HARD to enjoy! The male narrator would have been great for a coming of age boy wizard book, or maybe a gritty old soldier adventure story. As a supposedly sexy Irish mobster bad boy…HUGE miss! I’m pretty lax with narration but even I found this one challenging…and a bit cringey sometimes. The female narrator, while better, was still not ideal.
I had a big problem with how incredibly, aggravatingly, hair pulling, stupid, naive the female character was!!!! Gaaahh seriously! No way do I buy for a second that she could be a Dr.! Naive and inexperienced is one thing, but this dumb ass doesn’t learn from any of her MANY mistakes! Got my blood boiling how ridiculous and stupid some of her choices were. It also didn’t really track with her back story. This woman put herself through school and college, becoming a successful independent Dr. She apparently did all that 100% alone after the murder of both parents when she was 13. Not to mention the deaths of her foster parents! Then surviving a terrible abusive foster home before striking out on her own. How could someone like that be so ignorant and delicate? Frustrating!!!
The male character was a bit much with all his self loathing. He also betrays his best friend(it’s not his fault of course) and totally becomes a narc. While not as bad as the female I thought he seemed a bit unrealistic as well. Hardly a real bad boy anyway.
Oh and this author really needs to do some research on drugs if she’s going to write about them! Sorry but “taking to much heroin” doesn’t cause you to go insane. Also at one point the guy uses a syringe of “benzo” 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ like wtf is that? You know how many kinds of benzos there are? I won’t even get into how he had no idea of the dose and just injects it into her arm….oh well I guess lol.
Not a lot to recommend this book(although I normally love this author) but I still finished it. Why you might ask? Well…..HOT! Yep the sex scenes are…pretty fabulous lol. They may not be the best Iv ever heard, but they will def get your blood running 😉🔥
