About this listen
Bloomsbury presents I May Be Wrong by Björn Natthiko Lindeblad, read by Thom Petty.
‘This book really, really will stay with me forever. It’s not only laced with the most incredible wisdom, but it’s also gentle and beautiful and eloquent. It brought me so much joy and so much comfort’ FEARNE COTTON
The Sunday Times bestselling book of comfort and timeless wisdom from former forest monk, Björn Natthiko Lindeblad
___________
Let me tell you what this book is not. It's not about religion. It's not about telling you how to live your life. It's not about taking on a new set of beliefs. Plain and simple, it's about how to relate to your own thoughts and emotions in a way that makes your life more enjoyable, more free, brighter, clearer and wiser.
We like to think we understand what's happening around us; that we can determine the path our life takes. But often, things don't go that way – in fact, they rarely do.
What helps us respond to life as it unfolds? To live freely, stay humble and find comfort in difficult times?
In the Swedish sensation I May Be Wrong, former forest monk Björn Natthiko Lindeblad shares his advice on how to face the uncertainty and doubt that is a natural part of life. We don't choose our thoughts. We don't control the shape they take, or what pops into our minds. We can only choose whether or not to believe them.
Infusing the everyday with heart, grace and gentle humour, this is a book to help us all navigate the realities of modern life.
___________
‘I read it, turning down the corners of pages I wished to refer back to, and marking certain passages with a pencil. By the end, almost every page was folded and marked’ TELEGRAPH
‘A book of some brilliance’ DAILY MAIL
‘Genuinely stays with you . . . Will encourage you to let go of the small stuff, accept the things you cannot control and open your heart and mind to a more happy and peaceful life’ WOMAN & HOME
'With our potential to maintain a peaceful state of mind, it is possible to remain optimistic in the face of difficulties. Björn Natthiko Lindeblad, a former forest monk in Thailand, relates his experience of training to properly direct his thoughts which can benefit all' HIS HOLINESS THE DALAI LAMA

What I needed to hear
I came to this book after listening to Fearne Cottons interview with Bjorn on Happy Place. It has given me joy and peace to listen to it. The chapter on his father particularly affected me. As someone going through a major life transition right now, it gave me heart to hear this exquisite book read so beautifully. I am glad to have heard Bjorn’s words brought to life, and I won’t forget his teachings.

Truly inspirational
An incredibly moving story which triggers much thought and introspection. Perfectly narrated. An inspirational story from a wise and humble man and I feel honoured to learn of his journey through his own words.

interesting and enlightening
Tom Petty has a lovely, soothing narrating voice. The story is interesting, an insight into life as a forest monk from a western view, told with lovely good humour. I enjoyed the nuggets of wisdom along the way, but the most moving part was the non-threatening, gentle and dare i say beautiful look at death in the last chapters. This was made all the more poignant knowing that in Feb 2023 when i finished this, Bjorn had been gone for a year. I hope you got your wish at the end sweet soul.

Powerful finishing chapters
I have to admit I was initially disappointed with the beginning chapters of the book. A description of a lost soul but with a sense of entitlement to happiness and thought he could find it by opting out and becoming a monk. With some courage and conviction I agreed, NM m.but not that different to lots of our younger generations these days in my opinion who had not truly experienced suffering yet with high and unrealistic expectations of happiness in life.
The final few chapters, however, moves me, and there were lessons that he had learned from being a monk that I think are valuable to all of us when facing hardship and the sufferings in our life that often we might have questions or an opinion on.
I highly recommend it. There is humour, but also valuable lessons on some of the most important ways of thinking about living our life and facing the end of it.

The period from modern life to becoming a monk
Perhaps it went on a little after he left the monastery, could have been shorter.
