Summary
Discarded. Sacrificed. Triumphant.
They sent me into the blasted lands to die. I refused. I lived. And now...I return to the empire that discarded me. A god, rich with worship. I don't know what has become of Hasra, or the war with the Fomori. I don't know where Li is, or if her homeland is still dealing with the wyrm Khonsu.
My sister and mother were freed—the reward for my blood price— but I have no idea what has become of them. It is time to go home. Time to right old wrongs, and to find the legacy left behind by my former incarnation. Three tombs remain. Once I am certain my family is safe I will seek them.
The next lies in Olivantia, a land that has banned sorcery, and will kill me if they discover what I am.
If I survive, then I must return yet again to Hasra, this time to see the demonic kingdom that lies under the very city.
Prophecy says that I will survive, and find the last tomb in the Ashlands.
I tire of prophecy. I tire of what others require of me. It is time to make my own way, my own choices. They will find that I am neither boy, nor student any longer. I am the prince of demons, and I have returned.
Shattered Gods is based on the Magitech Chronicles pen & paper RPG and takes place in the same universe.

Incredible series, excellent battles, VAST world!!
This series continues to expand the real of the Magitech Chronicles and it’s grand cycle, with a broadening and understanding of the gods, demi gods, demons, dragons, and titans that have existed or will exist.
This particular book expounds on what we’ve known of Zal and his increasing powers and divinity. It’s fun, and keeps building the excitement for a building battle yet to come. Each book this far has yet to disappoint, and will leave you craving more. Rest assured, Chris Fox is a machine at home, churning out new stories and exciting battles, spilling his love and passion out of his mind and into the pages of his books. Thankfully, Ryan Kennard Burke is hard at work, delivering an ever-loved rendition of these characters, and eases our minds knowing the best team is working hard for our pleasure!
Looking for to the Ash Lands!! You are by far my favorite author ever, thank you Chris!

Disappointing - bad editing, no flow
Very disappointed. After books 1-3 I was really looking forward to this one. Book 4 reads like a storyboard with little soul or flow. Acquire new power or item; fight scene; lather, rinse repeat. Seems like he kind of mailed this one in and the editors (if there were any) should have sent this back for redraft.

I really wanna love the series, but
For something like this series to be great, you need great villains ones that stick in your head and make you think about things the series don’t got them. They got whiny, wheedling, that have stack of get out of jail free cards kind of villains. take for instants the Aunt she almost died twice in this book and both times. The only thing that saved her was plot armor not planning, not skill, but plot armor.
And another problem with her is that she’s bad at lying, and everyone believes her*AND NO ONE CALLS HER ON IT*
like when she told Tess, hey he stop by and then left you know and didn’t even say hello after being enslaved and sold off (mind you she didn’t even try to save him), and Tess throws a hissy fit because he didn’t say hello and try’s to kill him…… REALLY???? God Tess is such a horrible character not in a fun way. every major decision she has made in these books is made to spite him, and then wonder why he doesn’t like her, which is all in her head that does not make a good character or someone enjoying reading about.
I do like this the story but need some work

Interlude heaven
The book is broken up with different points of view, but probably a little too much for continuity sake. It isn’t executed well. The narrator has a strong southern twang that wasn’t around in book 1, so not sure what that’s about.

Really want to love this series but can't yet....
I really want to love this series, but just can't. I mean why is Tissa so oblivious to how Zal feels, why can't she just send a missive to him and open communication. or for Ba to so smart she sure doesn't care what her very intelligent mother has to say no .... she just listen to whatever her snake of an aunt has to say. Other than. that my only complaint is that it's starting to mimic the Deathless Series(which is my favorite), where Zal gets huge upgrades just for them to be useless in the next book.... And my last little complaint is the for the performance, at least do a feminine voice for the female characters. I understand if you don't want to a woman for the female characters which would b awesome and help you truly get lost in the story but with Ryan I can never tell if he's doing female characters if I get distracted for a second.
Other than that, I love the world Chris has built, and the characters. I have enjoyed Eric's character growth through the books, and hope it continues, i am ready to see the army Zal builds when he is able to bring his allies together. continue the great work Chris I can't wait for the next book.
