Summary

Hudson survived his perilous maiden voyage to his beloved China. With his heart set in determined obedience to God, and trusting the provision of the One who had called, Hudson overcame persecution and almost overwhelming personal losses to bring to bring God's truth to the "ripe harvest fields" of China.

Today, Hudson Taylor's story continues to challenge and inspire believers young and old to carry the anchoring gospel message, regardless of personal trial or hardships, to those who are adrift and without hope.

A good potted history

I’ve read the large biographies of Hudson Taylor in the past. Theo’s is a good overview of his life although it doesn’t go into nearly as much details as the big tomes. Nevertheless it’s still a good listen to.

Great testimony

Amazing story, loved the bit when he walked to the shipping office a sick man, been better if narrator hadn't tried to do voices especially Irish accent, but good voice to listen too. Very enjoyable book

Inspiring story

Another excellent book from the series. My only disappointment is that more effort wasn’t made to check pronunciation of British place names. Not the first book in the series to suffer from that problem. A lot of effort was clearly made over Chinese pronunciation. But a small point really compared to such a wonderful story.

A life devoted to God

I really enjoyed this book. The life spent serving God and seeing God move every day in his life. It puts many Christians today to shame myself included. A must read for Christians today and a guidance and blessing to all who read/ listen to it.
