About this listen
Hudson Taylor is one of the most remarkable of Christianity's heroes. A gawky, determined Yorkshire boy of commonplace origins, mediocre education, and uncertain health, Hudson Taylor lived in the assurance that under God's direction he would someday evangelize China's 400 million souls. Today he is remembered both as the founder of the world-famous China Inland Mission and one of history's great men of faith.
Hudson Taylor left England on September 19, 1853, and did not reach China until the spring of 1894. The long and arduous voyage, persecution, poverty, and the barriers of language and culture did not deter him from his mission. Throughout a life filled with trials of all sorts, Taylor remained confident in his knowledge of God's will and of his care, even in the shadow of death.

Wonderful book about an outstanding man and the God he trusted.
I love how the book draws out the key lessons from this wonderful man's life, who truly lived his life based on his faith in God and that God would always provide.

A must-read for any Christian!
What I loved -
This story is a great mix of narrative (Taylor’s life), with interspersed teaching (Taylor’s beliefs and convictions that led to his extraordinary life and legacy). There is so much to learn from and be inspired to. As a Christian, I left deeply moved by God’s love, and inspired to greater action.
What I didn’t love -
These are minor, but I thought worth stating. I would have loved to have a more story style audiobook rather than a reading of a book. I would have also loved to hear more authenticity - it felt like some episodes were addresses but glossed over in the desire to have a more perfect picture of HT’s life.
Having said that, this was an excellent audiobook - a must-read for any Christian of a picture of someone living as if the Bible was true

inspirational
I have long loved the record of this man's life for God. This book is truly encouraging and gives a prod in the ribs as well. May all who listen enjoy the challenges that it brings and be determined to live for God, who is God over all.

Full of Spiritual Nuggets You Can Adopt
What I loved about the book was that it covered how Hudson became who he was & shows you how you can walk in his shoes in whatever you’re doing for God today. The guy had exceptional zeal for God, & did the seemingly impossible in order to capture satan’s territory for God. To think that when he had to stand down & couldn’t do stuff for God anymore because of old age, he basically said “the hardest thing to do was do nothing for God’s sake”🔥. Now that’s an absolute legend… Next one, George Muller 😀
