Summary
Jesus said, "If ye shall ask anything in my name, that will I do."
"That," says E. M. Bounds, "is the Divine declaration, and it opens a vista of infinite resources and possibility."
Throughout his ministry, Bounds rose early every morning to pray for three hours. Out of this deep prayer experience, he could say, "Without prayer, the Christian life, robbed of its sweetness and beauty, becomes cold and formal, and dead; but in the secret place where God talks with His own, the Christian life grows into such a testimony of Divine power that all men will feel its influence and be touched by the warmth of its love...That, surely is the purpose of all real prayer and the end of all true service."

Read the Book
A challenging book on prayer. Seems the content is a little off topic mostly. The author talks a lot about prayer & what it has done in the past but not it's purpose as much. The Book On Prayer by Ken Gurley is better. The narration is what's bad. The voice changes sound like an Agatha Christie dramatization. Just get the book & read it yourself.

Terrific read!
It’s heartbreaking to hear most people pray today. I’m usually left with the impression they are merely complaining to a God they don’t even know, gossiping to everyone within earshot, lecturing to someone, or giving God their to-do list, always in hopes of changing an unfavorable situation or someone other than themselves. Christ warned he road to heaven is narrow and few will find it. This little book can help people find it and secure some of the rewards that accompany the Kingdom!
