Summary
In How to Get Over a Boy, best-selling author Chidera Eggerue will show you, once and for all, how to reframe the stale goal of finding a man. She will equip you with tangible and applicable solutions for every part of your dating life, helping you recognise that men hold as much power in our romantic lives as we grant them.
In the past, dating books tend to lean more into the territory of 'how to make him find you hot!', 'how to make him jealous!', 'how to get him to propose!'. But these how-tos are placing men on a pedestal of being 'the prize'. Men are never the prize. You are. Let The Slumflower show you why.

Not as described
This isn't a bad booklet (very short 3 hours on audio) but it's absolutely NOT about 'getting over a boy'. Which is a shame as I bought it intending to recommend it to my niece who is going through an awful break-up.
It's a sort of generic positivity, Lousie Hay-ish ... Love yourself first type book. And if I thought this would help her I'd recommend Louise (who is awesome) but my niece is younger so I thought something a little trendier might work for her.
This is just a bunch of internet memes strung together with a little basic body positivity thrown in.
Honestly, I feel pretty conned - and the audio isn't particularly well-read either.
Disappointed

Waking up my conflictingly ideological brain TFU!!
This book is read by Chidera Eggerue, which is honestly my personal favourite thing about listening to books in general. It's an incredible experience, to hear it read out loud, hearing their voice creates the reality and makes it feel personal, to hear it and understand how they wrote it.
The nature of the book has admittedly loosened some grave dirt for me, those Skeletons I thought were packed tight 6 feet under.
Some subjects on socialisation, sexology (I'd never heard of before this book) and how my time is precious, valuable and anyone who wants my attention should earn it!
The book is very liberating, it's enough to deal with those Skeletons I've avoided for so long.
Thank you Chidera Eggerue!

Sublime
This is the best book I've come across on self love and freeing oneself from dependence on validation from men. An intelligent, intersectional, refreshing insight into break-ups, this helped me finally move on from a relationship that had been hanging over me for more than a year. I felt so seen and understood and I cannot overstate how much I wish everyone would read/listen to this book.

Buy it!!
For me it was less about the boy like the title and all about ME! I loved it! I need to remember it now and NOT entertain D-heads!!

Not amazing
A bit too entitled-sounding and the narration wasn't the best. It took feminism and twisted it into ultimate female power. Not a healthy way of thinking (coming from a woman).

So boring
It’s too slow and the content is just not gripping. Really doesn’t help you get over someone. Just tells you to love yourself

For our daughter’s daughters…
A great read, not just for getting over a boy, but for discovering our worth and empowerment and being the best versions of ourselves for ourselves ❤️ thank you for sharing and helping me at my lowest, I needed to hear all of this, I’m grateful for women like you and I pray my daughter learns to love herself before anything and anyone ❤️ xxxxxxxxx

Full of useful facts
I liked it from the beggining to the end, it made me think and understand so many things about how I relate to myself and others.
I loved the way the author narrated it too!!

Excellent book
Changed my mindset on myself completely. My confidence is up and insecurities down after a really traumatic breakup. I recommend this to anyone who isn’t feeling good about themselves single or not

Incredibly empowering
Completely blew me away with how insightful this book is. I’m in a period of mental health recovery, and Eggerue has opened my eyes to my worth in unfathomable ways.
