And just how do we manage those situations that can provoke even the most rational among us into behaving in ways we would rather forget?

Most books about public speaking don’t tell you what to do when you open your mouth and nothing comes out. And they don’t tell you how to get over the anxiety about performance that most people naturally have. They don’t tell you what to do in the moments when you are made, as a woman, to feel small. They don’t tell you how to own the room. This book does.

True confidence isn't fearlessness; it's having the courage to jump in even when your knees are shaking.

Story
Leadership is not about titles, status and power over people. Leaders are people who hold themselves accountable for recognising the potential in people and ideas and developing that potential. This is an audiobook for everyone who is ready to choose courage over comfort, make a difference and lead. When we dare to lead, we don't pretend to have the right answers; we stay curious and ask the right questions. We don't see power as finite and hoard it; we know that power becomes infinite when we share it and work to align authority and accountability.

This book reveals how their over-a-decade-long journey and groundbreaking research uncovered that women everywhere are unfairly burdened with 'non-promotable work', a tremendous problem we can—and must—solve.

Lift as You Climb is a dynamic guide to owning your ambition without having to be someone you don’t want to be. It’s about balancing ambition and compassion, and women being able to strive for personal success while trying to help - or lift - others along the way. We all have difficult moments at work, times when we feel awkward, when our daily micro interactions make us uncomfortable, perhaps when we have to say no or assert ourselves in a way that makes us feel less like ourselves, less 'sisterly'.

Good insights on leadership roles
In 2022 there are an increasing number of books that are written for women and by women (partially true in this case). I might have partially identified with the context or the author's personality, but the amount of insight and overlap is refreshing, compared to the amount of energy I needed to input to draw personalized knowledge from male-focused books.
I liked the book. I've found myself 'guilty' of many of the 12 habits exposed. Acknowledgment is the first step in producing change. It is not a 'perfect' book, but there are perspectives that didn't cross my mind before.

Excellent and a must for working women
This is an exceptional guide and full of insights and practical steps for women who are stuck in their career. We make these mistakes over and over because we’ve been institutionalised by societal expectations of how women should behave - including in work. Much to our own professional detriment and negatively impacting our wellbeing. Thankful that a friend recommended this book... much needed. Thank you to the authors.
