Critic reviews

"Marshall Goldsmith is one of the most credible thought leaders in the new era of business." (The Economist

"For over a decade I have worked with Marshall in corporations and seen him teach. In my opinion, he is the best at what he does, bar none. He has that rare combination that makes a great teacher-thought leadership, classroom management, and presence." (Vijay Govindarajan, professor and director, Center for Global Leadership, Tuck School, Dartmouth University)

"America's preeminent executive coach." (Fast Company)

Coaches guide to Coaching

Great coaching book geared mostly towards coaching leaders/executives rather than 'the common man'.

Thats said, there is much to be gained here, even as a non coach, particularly as Goldsmiths advice revolves around simply treating people with respect and honesty.

Fantastic book, well narrated!

I have learned so much from this book! The content is great, educational, informative and in some cases perhaps “common sense” that you never ever thought of. Studying leadership in an MBA programme, this fits in perfectly with what I’m learning (and experiencing in the work place). I’ve just finished listening to it and am going to listen to it again.
Highly recommended.

An always relevant masterpiece

I read the original of this many years ago and gave given copies to several of my consulting clients. The insights and recommendations are really valuable and it's the sort of book you can profitably return to time and again

Makes you think

Made me think about how others view me based of my actions and how difficult or time consuming it takes to change other people's minds about you.

Very useful

Great to listen to (narrator is great) and the content is fantastic. Always coming with examples and stories from his own experiences. So much good stuff that I will use in my work and for myself.

Yes! Do Read it!

I'm so grateful to my friend who told me about this book. After having read it - I think it is a must-read for everybody and not just for those who are involved in managing and leadership.

Very interestingly Marshall Goldsmith talks about 20 most common "bad habit" many CEOs have. I must admit I have found myself guilty in some of those, of course! And also interesting to look around, and see what does other do and don't do: including my peers, my management, senior management.
Most importantly, I liked recommendations and the ideas from the book like the concept of feeding forward and measuring our soft goals.

Yes, recommended !
