Dom in lace!

Great start to this series, even if it really started with a shortstory that isn’t on audio.
From the very beginning it feels like I am allowed to be a part of the group of people that is the foundation of this book. That is often how I feel about Shaw’s books, that I’m invited to be one of the friends.

Kenneth, as always, did a great job presenting each person with their own characteristic voice.

Fun shenanigans

This was an easy enjoyable listen and I though Kenneth was cast well for the characters. The story had a few issues for me and I also felt like the author could have done a little better at introducing us to all of the characters in the beginning. I checked a couple times to see if this was actually the first book because I felt like I was supposed to know who everyone was already. The ending also felt just a little cut off as well. but over all it was fun to listen too and I loved all of the sexy content.

Really enjoyable

Houston is looking for the perfect roommate, after disastrous previous roommates he is even thinking of giving up, until Reece applies. Reece is bi sexual and a sub, but his previous encounters don't understand how he can be bi. These guys pussyfoot around each other whilst fantasing about a relationship. Then 1 night they are at a BDSM club and it all comes out about wanting each other, and chemistry explodes. Really enjoyable.

Sexy, cheeky and I wanted more!

I really enjoyed this book and love the concept of a no-nonsense guy being unashamed of what he wants and likes! I loved Houston's bold presences and his instant attraction to Reece is amusing. I loved Reece, I thought he was just adorable and I loved that he was exploring what he liked and Houston fits the bill perfectly!

This is a steamy read with heart! I enjoyed the character's journey and progression and loved the sexy lingerie & BDSM elements!!! I felt the book sort of ended really quickly. I wanted more of Houston & Reese and felt like I missed out on the "I love yous" and extra feelings by the book ending so abruptly.

I also loved the side characters and Eli is of cause just fabulous and I can't wait for his book next!!

Fun Start to a New Series, Kenneth Obi is Perfect

The first book in Shaw Montgomery’s Leashes & Lace series, Houston is the story of a slightly OCD, satin & lace wearing Dom and one very intrigued submissive. Fans of manties, edging, and other wonderful kinks are going to love this one!

The audio version of Houston is performed by Kenneth Obi. One of my favorite narrators, Mr. Obi has these guys down. He uses his wonderful dommy voice for the gruff and sultry Houston and his Reece is adorable, yet still very masculine. It’s easy to see he has a lot of fun with the characters in this novel, and he keeps the story rolling along at a great pace.

Watching Houston and Reece stumble and fumble as they try to figure out if the other is interested is pretty funny, but once they get together? Well I’m not going to spoil it for y’all, but DAMN they’re hot together! Turns out that writing as Shaw Montgomery or M.A. Innes it doesn’t matter, this author writes a smoking hot sex scene. I just wish the story had been longer once they made their connection because they work so well together.

As this is the first in the series we get to meet a number of characters and see their dynamics in action. I’m looking forward to watching them all hook up, especially Eli, because someone has got to tame that boy and I can’t wait to see it happen!

Sexy underwear wearing Dom yummy!!!!

Houston is a man who knows what he wants, to wear what he likes and be a Dom who wants to tend to his sub. Reece’s reaction is brilliant and the relationship that grows between them is amazing!!! We also meet Eli who I love!!!

The beginning of the audible was hard to listen to, Kenneth’s voice was slow, it was the first time I considered speeding his voice up!! the voices seemed all over the place, I really struggled to understand who was talking at times, however Kenneth seemed to settle after the first chapter and he kicks back into his usual fantastic story telling. Oh and the scene where Houston listens to Reece’s friends help him move in, Kenneth’s narration was so on point it was hilarious.

I will add that I have listened to it a couple of times now, to try and pinpoint why I struggled so much with the beginning that the voices don’t sound as bad, so maybe I just needed to get used to them.

This book is great for low angst readers/listeners who like their Dom’s in sexy underwear!!!
