A good read while it lasted.

I liked how it was very much its own thing, story structure wise. If the series ends, I'd call it a good ending, but would read a third.

It's not the kind of thing that I expect will stick with me, but it was fun to read.

not as enjoyable as the first book

I really enjoyed book 1 and I kind of get the author's attempt at being more manga/anime in the 2nd book with extra evil "baddies" and POV chapters on the side characters. However it comes across as a bit of a jarring change from book 1, and can read a bit more YA or written by a randy school boy. Great performance though.

Fun, but not so much Hive Queen

Fun ideas, but it seems the author is more focused on anyone but the hive queen character.

Also, I don't think a lot of these other characters gets fleshed out that much.

Well written

Have to say, I loved the first book but this one not so much. It doesn't focus on the main character of the last book as much and although builds the world considerably it misses out on so many interactions between them and the other characters. Also, I loathed many of the new characters. I think this was intentional by the author, so it is well written but still, for some chapters this got intense. I will be following the series as it develops as there are many great points, but I hope there will be more interactions between Marcus and other characters with higher emotional discourse as it develops... Thanks again to the author, please don't take this too negatively for all the above it was a good read/listen 🙂

A disappointing sequel

I enjoyed the previous book and was really looking forward to this one. Sadly I'm quite disappointed.

This book is like book from another series, set in the same universe. I was expecting to read more about the main character which I liked. Instead the story fractured and started following a ton of secondary characters, which you are meant to dislike.

In the end I just gave up on the series in the middle of the second book.
