Summary
He's a professional hockey player trying to survive on his new team. I'm just trying to survive.
I'm down to my last dollar. I live day-to-day in a world that doesn't care. Despite my bad luck, I'm a fighter. I never give up. I never stop trying.
Ryan Parker's wealth and generosity set him apart from anyone I know. Yet, I don't trust him. It's nothing personal. I trust no one. But when my bad luck takes a turn for the worse, one person shows up. Ryan Parker.
I do not understand why he bothered because the guy has enough of his own issues to deal with. But I don't have a choice. I need him. It's a matter of survival.
His friendship changed everything. It changed me. I started to believe in myself. I allowed myself to trust. And for the first time in a long time, I felt my heart beat again.
Contains mature themes.

Great book
Very enjoyable story between Rory and Ryan..
They meet in unusual circumstances and are from opposite sides.
Ryan is a rich Hockey player and Rory is homeless with nothing to her name.
Then one night changes everything and Rory finds herself staying with Ryan in his home and a friendship develops between them.
But the friendship soon turns into a mutual attraction and surprisingly it is Ryan who is reluctant to take it further.
I Loved seeing the way Rory's character grew in confidence and with Ryan's support she was able to rebuild her life.
But as always there are numerous threats to their relationship there are obstacles and interferences from the outside that could ruin them.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book and Alex Kydd and Madeleine Dauer were Excellent in their narration of this book.
Loved it.

Story: good. Narrative: awful
I had a large number of audible books, and have never understood why anyone would want to change the speed—until now. Male narrative is so slow, I had to go to 1.25 for the Ryan chapters, and switch back to normal 1.0 for Zoe. Pretty much a pain. And while the story is good, it was a little too long and drawn out.

Male voice is....
To begin, I love listening to audio books. I was expecting this to be like the rest I’ve heard. However, the voice of the male narrator is absolutely terrible! It sounds as if he is not only a robot, but there is no masculinity to his voice whatsoever. It was very boring and hard to follow. As someone stated above, I had to put it on 1.25 for the male and back to normal for Zoe. What a shame!!!! Will not buy another book from this company!

Disappointed
I really was disappointed after listening to the audio book “Home Game: Vancouver Wolves Hockey and the story between Zoe and Ryan. Their love story was disappointing, more lust than love. I did love Krista and her directness. What I did not like was all the vulgar language. I’m not a prude, I’ve be around the block or two. I felt like the F word was used too much therefore degrading the love that was forming between them. Not once did I Ryan and Zoe talk about making love it was always having sex or f**king.

Better Narrators Maybe?
I actually read this book before I listened to the audio version, and maybe it's just me, but I guess I already had their voices in my head of what they would sound like … and it was not these two narrators. The male narration was - well, weird at times. Unless there was some action scene like a fight going on, he talked way to slow and almost sounded like a creeper. The female narration, while it was better, really lacked in relaying the emotions … so a bit robotic maybe? And her male voices, other than Micah (sp?) who was Russian, severely lacked. The story itself was alright, like I said, I had already read the book so I knew what it was about. I think that the narrated version of this book made Zoey seem more air headed and dumb for a lack of a better word, than the written book did because of the way it was narrated as opposed to the way I narrated it in my head when I was reading it. And Ryan definitely was not such a whiny voice in my head. The story itself is a good one - a cinderella start to the fairy tale ending, but there is a lot of frustrated eye rolls in there and a few are you kidding me's too. I am beginning to get more into the sport themed background of books, so this was a good side story in the story. All in all it was just ok. If you are just desperate for something to get lost in, this book is long enough to do the trick - if the narration doesn't put you to sleep first.

Book 1 needed Alex's narration 🥵❤️ Where do I begin? Damsel in distress, tentative flirting, slow burn written and narrated to perfection. I hated having to pause this for sleep!

Ryan & Zoey
An exquisitely captivating, suspenseful, sweet and heartwarming story. Ryan and Zoey embarked on a journey of a beautiful friendship that could possibly be more. I absolutely adored this book.
Narration was ok. I did have to speed it up for the male narration.
