Another fantastic book from Riley. This book explores the mysterious Holden, who we've heard about before but who finally gets his own story in this 6th book of the Gemini series.

The members of Gemini and their families truly show what a tribe they are in this book, where they manage to support both Charleigh and Holden through their trials and tribulations as well as on their path to happiness.

There are villains, heroes and terrible snobs in this story, just as in real life, and the story twists and turns its way to a great conclusion.

If you want thrills, angst, bottomless love and people you quite frankly want to throttle sometimes (for so many reasons) then get stuck in here.

Joe and Erin bring the story to life so well as always. Anyone who is a fan of Joe's kid voices will get a fix here! His portrayal of emotion and passion is, of course, on point. Erin is her usual wonderful self. She plays the part of an emotionally stressed mother so well and I really felt that I was truly inside Charleigh's head.

A great read, and listen, once again. Can't wait for the next one.

It's a second chance romance with a lot of hurt and backstory. Unfortunately I don’t really feel like the backstory is described in depth, only brushed over when needed. It’s a good story with a strong female MC. The male MC is a bit one dimensional, but the story works.

Riley Edwards is a brilliant author and the plots she comes up with are just out of this world amazing. Holden’s story was no different.
Charleigh and Holden were a very happy WE many years but life happened. Life events that kept them apart.
Their second chance romance brings the whole gang back to play and it’s friggin’ awesome to have a little insight on what’s going on with everyone. This book also prepares us for for Jonny’s story.

As usual Erin Mallon and Joe Arden are amazing with their portrayal of the character.

I think this is story that divides its readers/listeners. You come out either totally forgiving all parties or still feeling a level of salty about either Holden or Charlie.

I admit I went into this needing Charlie to somewhat redeem herself given the limited information we’d been fed in the earlier books in the series. I quickly came around to her side though, Erin Mallon narrated this book, and especially those first chapters, with such emotion, such depth that you couldn’t help but understand the how’s, what’s and whys from her perspective. From then I admit I went full 180 degree and Holden needed to get the heck over himself. Annoyingly, Joe Arden voiced Holden in such a way that despite the fact I think he’s a humongous A-hole (a maybe!!!!!!!!) I also felt the depth of his regret and love for Charlie and was totally on board for a hea.

Actions and words needed to be forgiven and as Charlie points out many times, the hits keep coming, but eventually the dust settles with the most devastating of revelations leading to another bout of soul searching.

I did feel that Charlie did a disproportionate amount of forgiving in this book. Holden did her dirty, like waaaayyyyyy dirty and there were points I felt like there was not way they could come back from it.

But this is Riley Edwards and so we press forwards knowing redemption and true love is the destination.

Awesomely narrated, making even the scenes I winced at, the ones I got angry at and the ones I cheered during make more sense.

Hearing a story is so different from reading it. As hard as I try I can’t help but skim sometimes and I’m discovering tiny nuances that I miss in the read, that come up in the listen.

Highly recommended, even if I’m still harbouring a little annoyance at Holden…..

I voluntarily listened to the audiobook provided by the author in exchange for a review. Holden and Charly go way back. Broken trust, destroyed futures and still sharing a strong band of love for each other - they have to fight for them.
A wonderful story full of regret, love, hatred, friendship and joy.
The narrators did an exceptional job, as with the other books in the series. Joyful to listen to them smooth voices.

This series is absolutely amazing, Riley Edwards created something very special when she created the Gemini Group, a group of former navy seals and special forces who teamed up to put their skills to good use and for the good of the people, jobs they take include government contracts since they can get the job done without having to go thru all the red tape. The camaraderie amongst the team members is like no other, a brotherhood true in true, and once you are in the family you are in for life. It is best to enjoy this series in order as written, starting with “Nixon’s Promise”, watch the team form and build and watch each member fall for their significant other. I have been looking forward to Holden’s story, he has been in scenes throughout the series and I wanted to learn more about him and his backstory. I had a feeling it was going to be a doozy of a story, one that tugged on your heartstrings and it sure does. My heart wept for him and for the only woman he ever loved, Charleigh Towler, his Leigh Leigh. The two were lovers years earlier, but he made the mistake of his life and let her go, thinking it was for her own good. He was heartbroken when she moved on with Paul, another member of his Seal team, Paul, even more heartbroken when she married him and had his child, but their marriage ended in tragedy when he was killed while on a mission. She tried to talk to Holden several times over the years, but he would not give her the time of day. Now she is back with her daughter, Faith, but Holden shuns them both as much as he can and she was going to leave, but she feels at home with everyone else from the Gemini group and their women. And when they get wind that Paul’s family is harassing her and threaten to take her daughter, the team is on the case. Holy moly, Paul’s family is out of their minds and out of control, though her family is not much better. Holden’s protective instincts kick in and he keeps them close while they investigate and understand it all. There are a lot of layers to their story and peeling back each layer reveals another truth and the truths are difficult for Holden or Charleigh to hear. This is a beautifully plotted second chance romance, there is plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, some thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and a forever love that was meant to be. Riley Edwards, thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Riley Edwards could not have chosen a better cast to bring her characters and story to life. Erin Mallon and Joe Arden are superbly talented narrators and versatile voice artists. Their portrayal of the characters has been spot on and each role is played naturally, making them believable in every role. They have set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance and have you feeling every single one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

This is the sixth book in the Gemini Group series, a Romantic Suspense. Holden and Charleigh's story is emotional, suspenseful, and captivating, filled with danger, and twists and turns. This is another great addition to the series! Holden, a former Navy SEAL, is handsome, enigmatic, and protective. Charleigh is beautiful, smart, and strong. I loved her determination. Her daughter Faith is so cute! The supporting characters are great, and I loved to see again the characters from the first books in the series. The friendship and brotherhood in this series are amazing! This is an excellent and passionate second chance to love. Joe Arden and Erin Mallon did an amazing job with the narration. Looking forward to listening to Jonny's Redemption, the final book in the series. If you like Romantic Suspense, this series is for you! I highly recommend it. How can it be that every book in this series is fantastic? Where some lose their stamina, Riley Edwards gives us consistently amazing romantic suspense with her Gemini Group! This is Holden and Charleigh's story, and be prepared, it will grip your heart. Eight years ago, Holden left his Leigh Leigh. No reason given, she finds herself out drinking and in the bed of Paul, one Holden's seal team members. Pregnant, she marries Paul, and these two enter years of misery. Now is their chance to find their happiness, but there always seems to be an obstacle in their way. Will Charleigh learn to trust Holden again? Will there be forgiveness? What will happen to Charleigh's daughter? The Gemini Group is front and center as things take a turn, helping this couple navigate life. It's suspenseful, surprising, frustrating and oh so passionate! The perfect second chance romance to make our hearts stutter and grow.

The narration continues with Joe Arden and Erin Mallon, and there is nothing I can say that would surprise you. The versatility of this team, with different characters and personalities from book to book is spot on. The voices are consistent, so we always know who is speaking, and they make our experience feel like we are part of their close knit friendships. Love these tow and am looking forward to Jonny's story.
