Summary
A full-length STANDALONE romantic comedy from USA TODAY best-selling author R.S. Grey.
I've spent eight years wishing I'd fall out of love with Derek Knightley. Blowing out birthday candles, chasing after shooting stars, making it rain spare change into mall fountains - every time it's the same wish: Forget about Derek.
But the day he walks back into my life, I realize there are two things time has yet to soften: my feelings for him and his chiseled jawline.
It's infuriating that my heart still races when he walks into a room. I refuse to fall prey to old unrequited love, so I decide the less I'm around him, the better. Avoidance is key.
Unfortunately, Derek isn't going to make it easy. As a teenager, I would have crawled on my hands and knees to attract his attention. Now I can't seem to escape it.
I'm not sure why he's bothering. He's not just out of my league - he's out of my tax bracket. As the sole heir to the Knightley Company, he's as close to American royalty as you can get. As for me, I'm just a part-time princess at Knightley's flagship magical theme park.
I spend my days playing make-believe, but Derek has no use for fairytales. His unwavering confidence makes it clear he thinks I'll surrender in the end.
He's just biding his time.
Making me sweat.
His Royal Highness always gets what he wants.
And he wants me.

Hysterically lighthearted!!!
This was an endearing heartfelt romantic comedy. I laughed and felt the frustration of the characters throughout the entire book. If not for the very few slightly explicit love scenes and words, it would would be perfect for all ages!!!

Can’t say enough!
Loved this book so much on the page. The audio version brought it even more to life. The narrators were fabulous. RS Grey’s characters always have fantastic wit in their dialogue and these narrators delivered that wit perfectly. Thoroughly enjoyed this book again. It will be a favorite that’s listened to over and over again!

Cringe. 🥴
I wanted to love this book. I really did. I dreamed of being a Disney princess at Disney World when I was a teenager so I was excited for the story.
Instead, I battled between wanting to see what happens and clicking ‘exchange’ to get my credit back.
No true heat or tension, just the internal monologue of a grown woman with the stunted mindset of a teenager that finally catches the eye of her years-long crush: a hard-working, thirty-something industry tycoon. The female narrator really laid the annoyance factor on thick.
Regardless, the theme park setting and costume descriptions kept me listening.
This would be perfect for a teenager if the graphic romantic content was left out.
The one redeeming character? The grandfather. Still, I think I’ll stick to my historical romances from now on.

Self Involved Princess Wannabe
This is what I imagine a 15 year old thinks romance, being an adult, and love should be. I’ve read worse, but not many

Heroine with the mind of a 15 year-old
The heroine has verbal diarrhea every time she meets the hero, which makes her seem like an airhead. And want to slap her. The story is flat, no mystery, angst, or general knowledge. It will make you wonder about the inner workings of the world’s most famous amusement park. Other than that, it’s a very immature story.

Cute story.
This story was really cute with depth, but minimal angst. The narration was fantastic. If you’re looking for something realistic and sweet, this is it.

A FUN Fairytale
If your romance genre is paranormal , romantic suspense, sports or lots of angst, definitely skip this one. But, if you like adorable characters (all of them), smart cute banter, and great inner dialogue, you might just love this book as much as I did. First, it’s set in a fairytale park. Come on, what’s a better place for romance than one of those “happiest places on earth”? Then throw in Whitney and Derrick who are 2 of the most likable people on earth (who are both intelligent) and you have a love story that is begging to be read. I loved this book and I’m not apologizing for that. And for those who can’t go without, there are even sex scenes. They’re not “raunchy” but they certainly get the point across. I’m not a “theme park” person but I would have loved to work at this one..

Great Story
I rarely take the time to write a review; however, this is such a sweet book with such a pair of likable protagonists, that I had to compliment R.S. Grey. It seems that lately in an attempt to make “strong” or “masculine” heroes authors make men immature or truly damaged. Or they make the female protagonist wimpy and whiny. I loved this book because here you have a strong duo who are relatively mature and who don’t make stupid choices just to make the plot progress.
I love the idea of growing up inside a theme park, and the multi-generational aspect just adds to the loveliness of the story.
Aubrey Vincent and Edward Thomas did an excellent job narrating this book. I have never listened to them before, and now I am going to look for more books narrated by them. I highly recommend this book. I finished it with a smile on my face. What more can you ask for?

Love & laughter
Such a sweet book. The characters are wonderfully funny & flawed just enough to be loved. The “park” is somewhere I would love to live in.
A really sweet read that I for sure will enjoy again.

Nice light fun
I enjoy RS Grey. It was a nice easy read. Good story and really enjoyed it. No feelings were harmed reading this book and it was EXACTLY what I needed.
No dark or ugly plot turns.
