Summary

Secrets...dirty ones.

He was mine...there was a time....

Or so I thought.

Instead, I was simply his dirty little secret.

He couldn't, no, wouldn't, risk telling his best friend - my brother - about us. So, I kept quiet. Blinded by love and bound by my own desires, I allowed it all.

I didn't tell a single soul about my time with Sawyer, not my brother, not my closest friends.

Not then, and especially not now.

How can I? My best friend is his ex-wife.

The past is the past.

I'm over him.

I refuse to still love him.

He will never own me again.

I repeat the lies over and over again to myself every single day.

Only, deep down, no matter how hard I try to deny it, I've always been his.

I want more between us than a dirty little secret.

Buyer Beware

Thank goodness for Amazon reviews. So far Audibles ratings and reviews do not prepare listeners for this books pitfalls. I read reviews sometime before I choose the book usually lower rated ones to prepare myself and often after I listen to a book. I go to the reviews to see if others had the same opinions. Audibles reviews almost had me listening again because I thought that must have fallen asleep and missed some of it. When I read the Amazon reviews I was relieved to discover that I was not mistaken. Sadly this is not a bad story it is just incomplete and rushed. This seems like the first draft when you have the base of the story before you go back and add details and depth. I didn't expect a complicated storyline for a 3 hour listen actually I thought it mostly be erotica but the author actually tried to fit a 6+ hour storyline into 3 hours. I think this is my first listen by this writer and it would have detoured me but other reviews have said that her books are usually better than this one. If I paid outright or with a credit, I would have felt cheated. I have the Romance package but even so it sad that the writer is getting paid for this one.

Only for Jacob Morgan

I continued only for Jacob Morgan. That man's delicious voice had me continue listening to a book that would have normally been a DNF after the first few chapters.

Great story line

This story is great. I wish it was longer. Perhaps the author could have added more content and a bit of suspense prior to the big reveal. I was totally drawn in and simply wasn't ready for it to end.

wonderful narration, side eye to the story

This narration was absolutely fantastic. Carly Robins doing that child's voice had me feeling a I was listening to a child for real. I'm wondering how this is my first Jacob Morgan book and planning to make time to listen to his voice some more. My only issue with my enjoyment of the audiobook is the story. Ash was completely blindsided by her friend marrying the man she just had a relationship with. I just feel like Sawyer should have told Ash privately and told the friend about their history. Way to put that guilt on said friend 6 years later. Then Sawyer was jealous over the possibility Ash was with other men (she wasn't sadly) when HE WAS LITERALLY MARRIED TO HER BEST FRIEND! He wants it all and doesn't deserve it. The cherry on top of my anti-Sawyer cake is when he proposes to Ash at her friends dream wedding, the wedding she didn't get when she married Sawyer at the courthouse. I don't care whose idea it was. It shouldn't have happened. The narration definitely played a large role in my enjoyment of this story.

This is awesome

This is one of my favorites. The narrators are two of the best. The story was so well written and the story was such a great one. I loved the characters and how much love they have for one another.

Big Secret

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I felt like I was missing a big piece of what was going on in this story. I am not sure if I missed a previous book, but there were a lot of underlining stories that I made me think I skipped a book.

Swoon!

Oh, how I love Jacob Morgan’s voice. He really knows how to bring his characters to full life. He is why I am so addicted to audiobooks!
Here is what I have to say about this book. It wasn’t long enough. It was short sweet and to the point. I loved the basic foundation of the storyline, but would have loved more angst.

Doormat and drama

This story is another doormat heroine. The h was dumb and the hero was contradicting. So sad that the author created dumb heroine. The best part was the performance.
