Summary
An Astra Militarum Audio Drama Collection
The Imperial Guard are the backbone of the Imperium’s military strength. While the Space Marines get all the glory, it’s the guard that holds back the tide of threats that would soon drown the Imperium by sheer weight of numbers. These audio dramas bring you into their tanks, platoons and trenches to see how ordinary men and women face the horrors of the 41st Millennium.
Listen to it because
There's no nobler calling in the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium than to die in the Emperor's name – and the good men and women of the Astra Militarum martyr themselves in their billions. Get a thrilling insight into the galaxy's largest fighting force in this collection of audio dramas from Black Library authors including Sandy Mitchell, C L Werner, David Annandale and more.

Already listened to most these story's on other bo
Don't get me wrong this is all good stuff but if your like me and you have a bit of a collection going !
I realized pretty quick that all but one of these stories are on other audio books, they just gave it a new name and a coat of paint and tried selling it back to me !!! For the first time listening to 40k audio books I'm a bit pissed off feel like I've been ripped off !!!!

Loved it!
Really enjoyed this whole collection, voice casting was stellar and the sound effects were fun. My only slight criticism is that every now and then you kinda had to piece together what just happened based on effects rather than narration, but it didn’t happen often. Hope to hear more like this!

Boring.
This is the second WH40K i've tried and they're all boring with unnecessary drama & in-fighting. I bought this book simply for the Titan's Bane Story. It was disappointing because it's just a bunch of arguing and crew members. Not what I was expecting. None of the stories really grabbed my attention, and by the time most of them were ending, I was ready for them to be over.

Almost felt like a real movie
Outstanding voice acting. It read like a real movie going on in the background. I recommend this to anyone interested in starting your journey into the world of 40K.

The song was great
Ciaphus Cain story’s were amazing. There was a very nice song that cinematically ended another story. The last story was lacking to me though.

A rehash of the Astra Militarum collection
These stories are in a short collection I already bought before, they just renamed and re-released it. Kind of crappy.

I really liked it, even when I'm new to 40k
It was very enjoyable and the stories are short and some leave you wanting more. The only thing I didn't liked is that Audible decided to clumsy divide the chapters, so there is a new story, but the chapter is still the past story.
Apart from that, the performance was pretty good, the sound effects brought it to life. I will buy more of these audiobooks, they are enjoyable and I learn more of 40k.

Chapters in the Audible app are wrong
Bought this mainly for the first two stories, The Devil You Know and Dead in the Water, which are both Ciaphas Cain short stories. The rest of the stories are just as good though.
Dock one star because (1) at less than 8 hours, this audiobook is on the short side and could have added another two or three stories; and (2) the chapters in the Audible app are wrong. For example, Dead in the Water are under Opening Credits. Iron Devil is listed as 4.5 hours when that listing actually contain five stories. The standout in that bunch is Titan's Bane with its excellent voice acting and frenetic pace.
