Summary
When a lone wolf warrior must protect a woman with a secret, can love heal their wounded hearts?
A rogue highlander...
After earning a spot in King Robert the Bruce’s elite Bodyguard Corps, Kieran MacAdams is tasked with his first mission.
Vivienne, a lady-in-waiting in the French court, has become a target after helping thwart a plot against the king. Kieran is used to working alone and getting his way through brute strength, but Vivienne refuses to bend to his blunt orders.
Though he can defend her against any threat, can he protect his heart from the desire that burns hot between them?
A refined lady...
To hide a shameful scandal in her past, Vivienne has taken great pains to position herself in French society. But when Kieran charges into court, he threatens to ruin her carefully controlled life.
With the danger against her mounting, Vivienne has no choice but to let her wild highland protector whisk her away to Scotland for her safety. Thrust into close quarters, they are forced to face their budding love, but an old enemy may hunt them down before they can find happiness.
This full-length Scottish historical romance is part of the Highland Bodyguards Series, but also can be enjoyed as a stand-alone novel.

Loved it
Loved this series. One brilliant story after another. This is the second time I'm listening to this series and loved every second of it again. I love Tim Campbell as a narrator. One of the best narrators I've listened to. He changes his voice for each character. His voice for the men is to die for. Although even the women's voices sound very feminine. There another 2 stories after this. Niall and Marin's and William Sutherlands. So now on to the next one.

THANK YOU FOR HAVING A GREAT NARRATOR...
The narrator can make or break a good book. Tim Campbell, in my opinion, is one of the best. I enjoyed this entire series so far, please don't change narrators. Great story Emma Prince and accompanied by Tim Campbell as narrator!

I stumbled onto this series
…and have been entertained and educated at the same time. I love how the author weaves her romance novels with historical turmoil and real characters; and the author’s historical notes at the end are fabulous. Timothy Campbell delivers the characters, male and female, like no other. When I finish this series, I’ll be looking for others by Emma Prince.

8th book 8th smile!
To be honest, I was not sure when I read the synopsis that I would like this story as much as the others. I was wrong to think that. I found that while I knew or at least had an idea of how the story would go, that I was none the less plunged deep into the plight of our two Characters and the budding love between them. Yes this is a worthy addition to a thoroughly enjoyable impossibility romantic series!!

Tired of the trend.
Ok so this book was well on his way too a 4.25 star book UNTILL at the end it has become a trend that this is a book about Highland Warriors for Scotland and SEVERAL of the hero’s have to give up everything and move to England and now Paris to live at the heroines home ect with a lame excuse we will visit the Highlands. Give me a break it definitely takes all the wind out of the sail when you are making big brawny Highlanders live in England and France I have not written it in my previous reviews but I just hate it. It ruins the whole book. Ans it makes me think the females are whinny and selfish. I seriously hope the last fee DO NOT follow this trend.

First 4 not 5 star
I liked this book but it seemed more of a filler than actual story. I liked both MC. Just not sure the story was really *necessary*. Also why didn't someone get angry that the *countess* knew about the escape but didn't tell until AFTER the fact. Good not great.
